Auto Learning Feature is Detrimental to Health
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Auto Learning feature is terrible with this thermostat. Frequently when I set my heat to 70 in the house I would walk by later in the day to find that it reset itself to 60 or lower. Final straw was when I set the heat to 72 overnight and woke up to the house being 60 degrees. My four month old daughter was shivering in her crib and my wife and I came down with a minor cold waking up to that in the middle of winter in New Jersey. Do not buy this product. Ever.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google sent me a learning new one ..then i returned defective one.. ha ..had issues with that one.. decided I would just return it instead of striking out with 3rd one.. bought a honeywell T6 thermostat..no issues.. I'm satisfied with Honeywell...

Not a "smart" device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not actually use occupancy sensor. Home walking past 10times/hour, keeps turning the A/C off(or higher temp to not run) Vacation for a weekend, A/C keepin the empty house nice and cold. It is a wifi, so you can turn it on/off with your phone. It is NOT "smart" or "learning.

Reboxed, missing base
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered the nest online and got a unit which, after comparing it with the one I exchanged it for, had obviously been reboxed and was missing the base. The items were arranged the wrong way and seals were missing. As good as the products seems to be from the reviews, I'm leaving a one star for selling a reboxed unit missing a part as new.

Warning! No user manual available!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Warning! The thermostat does not come with a user manual and Nest does not have one available for download. Instead they expect you to wade through numerous support pages on their web site and go back and forth between multiple products until you find what you want. If you are old school and want a manual, then this product is NOT for you.

Terrible! Returned after bill doubled!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This does not work! I'd set the temp to 76 and the house would get up to 84 degrees! Hired a heating a cooling professional whom charged $125 to come check my AC unit and he said everything was working okay. Today I finally returned it after my bill doubled yet my house was so hot and humid this past month from the darn thing never working. Don't buy this!

Years of headaches
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything was good for a month, then it refused to connect to WiFi, refused to keep a normal temperature through the night. This has been nothing but aggravation every night and day since we bought it basically. Converted to a $30 thermostat after two years of nest and couldn’t be happier

It has a mind of its own
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have two homes and bought one for each home. Unfortunately the thermostats randomly decide we are home when we aren't and that we aren't home when we are. It's been virtually impossible to correct this issue and as a result we are heating when we don't want to and cold when we want to be warm. The programming needs a major overhaul.

This is a Terribe thermostat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Piece of junk. Stay away from it. 1 month after installing it stopped connecting with my WiFi. I tried everything and it did not work. Zero support from google and as a matter of fact don’t buy anything from google. I disconnected it and threw it away. Money down the drain.

They turned the smart thermostat into a dumb one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It used to be good. Now Google broke its automation capabilities and pulled off apple watch app in their attempt to force everybody into their narrow vision. What good is a smart thermostat if you can't integrate it in your smart home automation?

Don’t Buy Nest Themostat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own gen 2 of this model. Worked great for 3 years now it changes temperature on its own. Read the problems at Nest’s own website. https://www.nest-community.com/s/question/0D51W00005D3IAqSAN/thermostat-changing-itself-after-manual-override

Nest Batteries do no last.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After going through 2 nests in 5 years I give up with this product. They do not make the batteries serviceable and they often fail. Be weary. I did not purchase mine at Best Buy.

I have spend hours on the phone with service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second one I have had. After hours on the phone with their service they finally decided to ship me a new one; which took several days. They could have overnight expressed it, but didn't. I live in Minnesota where it was below zero. Now with the second one I have been on the phone with service several times. So far this week even though the schedule was set for 65 the temp. was 95. Today, it was set for 65 and it was 55. It takes 30 minutes to get to speak with someone, and when that person can't fix it I get on hold for a senior member. That took 30 minutes. Then I was on the phone for an hour with that person. I explained over and over all I want is for it to be 67 from 8A to 8PM Monday through Friday and save energy between 8PM and 8AM. Is that too much to ask?
