It faults out for not charging so disconnects from WiFi or RC wire connection broken and my original thermostat is same wire set up and have not had any problems other than it’s not WiFi.

Nest thermostats connectivity issues could be related to power issues, which may occur when your system wires can't deliver enough power to keep the thermostats charged up. The thermostat uses the voltage from your system’s wires to keep its internal battery charged, so if the power from your system is insufficient, the thermostat will run on battery for a while but will turn off features like Wi-Fi to preserve battery life before it must turn off completely.
Here’s are some troubleshooting steps that might help in the event that your thermostat has connectivity issues:
- Restarting your thermostat will refresh your connection. You can restart it by going to Settings > Reset > Restart.
- Unplug your Modem/Router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Check for sources of Wi-Fi interference (cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, bluetooth devices, wireless video equipment)
- Check your battery level, press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu Settings > Technical Info > Power. Look for the number labeled Battery. If the battery charge is below 3.6V, there might be a power issue.
- If this is related to a power issue, disconnect the thermostat from your Wi-Fi. Check if the thermostat maintains a charge after.

What I didnt like was after doing the compatibility check before purchasing, which the check said it would work with my system. Well it didn't. I purchased the Geek Squad when purchasing the thermostat. When it didnt work I called them asking for help.... they were absolutely no help, no one I talked to were familiar with thermostat. Waste of $25. Finally had to hire an electrician to come get it to work. Cost an additional $125.00. Make sure you have 24 volts at your thermostat.

You can control your ac with your phone with your voice. Its absolutely amazing.

Is staying right around that. Has alot of great features and i praise it everytime someone asks about thermostats or high power bills.
