||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not try to install this yourself if you have an old home with a four wire furnace line because you can totally screw up your AC. I thought I had mine set corretly and it worked well for about three months when the lack of a common wire on my four wire furnace wiring suddenly caused the capacitor on my blower to fail, leading to a frozen AC and a lot of water in the basement. I am super lucky that caught it before more damage was done and that I have a friend who works in HVAC and could fix my AC and update my furnace wiring, on Memorial Day no less. In the end, it is an ok product but it is not as simple as it seems to install and you could end up seriously damaging some very expensive equipment, so I recommend getting it installed by a pro.

So far has delivered on everything it advertised but the home/away assist does not do a good job of detecting when we are home or not but otherwise this product has been better than expected.

I anticipate a significant savings on our power bill. I'll come back in 120 days and update. I believe this is a very smart purchase. Easy to install and it practically sets itself up.

After comparing several thermostats, I decided on this one and at Best Buy because it was at a good price and reviews were good. It’s easy to use just for the time it goes offline and I can’t control it before I get home.

Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings. If you’re having a dual band connection, we recommend using the 2.4Ghz frequency band since it is more stable compared to 5Ghz especially if there’s a lot of devices connected to the same network.

Houses with split systems will require some research for adding both thermostats to a single home. It's not straight forward and not in the instructions or on the Nest website.

I haven’t had it installed for very long so it hasn’t learned my habits yet. I do like having access to the Nest from my phone.
