Not any drastic change from the 2nd generation to 3rd but got the latest one as it has a few features added from the previous version

The hardware is nice. I like the learning features. Although it automatically set itself to eco mode when we left the house and came back to the house being 60 degrees and it took a solid hour and a half to get the temp back up to 72 where we like it. I had to adjust eco range after that. The main thing it has over its cheaper cousin the thermostat E is that this can work with additional sensors and the E cannot. Otherwise, it's almost identical.

In the beginnig, I was frustrated with the device because it wasn't working properly. After contacting Nest Customer Service (open 24/7). After speaking with Customer Service, i knew what I had did and how to make it work..Nest has outstanding Customer Service

Thermostat is nice a little disappointed with some of the app features especially the scheduling feature and the fact that if for some reason the WiFi goes out the thermostat stops working but it looks nice

Any nest product you buy you will not be disappointed with, the Thermostat is no exception....it is fantastic!! Learns your patterns and saves money!!

I’m very happy I purchased this thermostat need some to cool my home down the reviews were great. I love it bought an additional one for my second floor.

I'm sure this is a good product, I've only ever heard good things about it, and I know people who have, and like, theirs, but I haven't found anyone to install it yet. I don't want to mess with those little tiny wires and mess up anything so I just have to wait for someone who has time.

The nest will pay for itself very quickly. Got a rebate from the power company right away. Knows to save energy when I’m not home.

After a while the system will set up your thermostat based on your history. Can set the temp via your iPhone but sometimes not working - don't know if it is the phone or the nest. A little expensive - got product one month only so don't know if it is saving some electric bill

Only lasted just over 2 years before showing WiFi error. Customer service (nest) just said sorry and nothing they can do about it. I would understand if I broke it, but being faulty and spending $200 on it to just last a couple of years is sad and worthless investment. Don’t recommend it. Moving on to another company.

Easy to install and convenient to have. It helps control temperature levels even when out of the house.

Love this thermostat. It was a wonderful upgrade for my home. I’m constantly using my phone to adjust it.

Installation was very easy. Using the app I was able to install this in under 30 minutes with no previous electrical training. I love the convenience of being able to adjust the temperature while staying in my bed or when I leave work to arrive to a perfect temperature home. I highly recommend this for anyone looking into upgrading their existing thermostat or next smart home addition!
