Great Thermostat!

Works well with my Alexa-powered smart home and has already started "learning" about my needs. Turns itself down at night and in the morning when I was feeling cold I walked over to it and before I could touch it it automatically turned on the heat - reading my mind! The only downside I have is that there are no good peripherals like sensors to put in different rooms or compatibility with smart vents. I'm very happy with it though it was easy to set up, looks great on the wall and even came with a cover plate to hide the bad paint job that was behind my old thermostat!

I can set the thermostat to conserve electricity while I'm gone and turn the AC back on before coming home. There are some additional features that allow it to sense when you're home and how you like the temperature based on certain times of the day and day of the week, but that's all a bit much for me.

It runs my furnace/AC a lot less than my previous thermostat, and keeps my house much more comfortable. I had some small issues getting my Nest to connect to my AC at first, but Nest customer support was great and helped me fix the problem in a few minutes. Fantastic product and company!

Nest thermostats connectivity issues could be related to power issues, which may occur when your system wires can't deliver enough power to keep the thermostats charged up. The thermostat uses the voltage from your system’s wires to keep its internal battery charged, so if the power from your system is insufficient, the thermostat will run on battery for a while but will turn off features like Wi-Fi to preserve battery life before it must turn off completely.
Here’s are some troubleshooting steps that might help if your thermostat goes offline again:
- Restarting your thermostat will refresh your connection. You can restart it by going to Settings > Reset > Restart.
- Unplug your Modem/Router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Check for sources of Wi-Fi interference (cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, bluetooth devices, wireless video equipment)
- Check your battery level, press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu Settings > Technical Info > Power. Look for the number labeled Battery. If the battery charge is below 3.6V, there might be a power issue.
- If this is related to a power issue, disconnect the thermostat from your Wi-Fi. Check if the thermostat maintains a charge after.

We even used this on vacation to turn up and turn down the air as needed and on the way home we cooled down our house and walked into a nice and cool house after a long 3 hour drive. Just great to be able to control the temperature and know it when not at home.
