Nest paid for an install of a common (C) wire. If you don’t have one, you might be delayed to get it up and running. Call Nest support for help.

The phone app is amazing, and the ease of installing the product was helpful. That said, I have been unimpressed by the performance of the Nest. I replaced an basic thermostat with this product, and my bills have INCREASED $40-$50 a month, and that's with a set schedule where I let the house get warmer during the day when no one is home, and cool it off in the evening. Before, I just had one set temp all day. Currently, I'm not super happy with the overall performance.

I had a dual fuel unit and hooked it up according to the diagram nest sent me. When I hooked everything up and got to the Ac pro settings, I was lost. Had to pay someone to install, but like the other nest thermostats I’ve installed, it’s a great product.

I had an earlier version and I liked it, but I think this one suffers from trying to do too much. It seems to have a mind of its own. It will seemingly randomly turn the thermostat up, even when we are home, so it gets hot in the summer time. It is almost like a nanny saying I don't care what you want, I want it to be something else. I DO want to conserve energy, but this thermostat goes places I never knew or intended it to go.

Posted .Hi Wayne, thanks for sharing your review. We're sorry to learn that your Nest Learning Thermostat would change the temperature by itself. This is not the experience we want you to have. There is a way for you to use the Nest Learning Thermostat as a traditional programmable thermostat so it will not change on its own.
First you’ll need to turn off Auto-Schedule learning and give it a manual schedule by either deleting its existing schedule or editing it to your liking. To know more on how to do this you can check this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9209007
