I wanted smart thermostat to help manage the energy cost for my home. I was away during recent periods for very variable temperatures. I really liked the ability to change settings remotely. I actually brought three of these for various areas of the house with different heating cooling requirements. I have be able to minimize the hvac run time. I have not used them long enough to know if I am saving money.

Great tool to save money. Easy to install with a little knowledge. If tech support needed they are a great help.

Very happy with the new (3rd Gen) Nest. We already have a 2nd Gen and have been very happy with it. Currently use one upstairs and one downstairs. They work the same although the 3rd Gen's numbers are larger and easier to read. I love the ability to control both thermostats from my phone. Installation is pretty straight forward, just be sure to turn the power off to your HVAC system before starting.

No complaints. Easy as heck to install and works great. Best purchase of the year thus far.

Really awesome tech for your home, throw out the old date’s thermostat. Comes with everything to install on your own, plug and play with no hassle. Takes about 10 minutes to set up. Control everything from your phone. Great product.

This best thermostat was perfect! We had one issue with it and the company sent us a new on next day to have the error fixed. We always recommend this to others!

This is a great thermometer. Very reliable. East to operate. My only complaint is my husband controls the house temp from his phone, when I am hot and I walk over and change it, and he knows from wherever he is and readjusts..... it is like hogging the remote, but now it is not just what I'm watching , but my comfort.

Better than the EcoBee the screen is much nicer and the scrolling and press features are much smoother. The app integration is perfect. No complaints. Auto-Away saves money for when you're not home and the Nest-Sense sets schedules based on what you like. Coming home around 6 everyday the nest will crank up the AC around 5 to get the house nice and cool when I'm home. An essential to your HVAC system.

Love this thermostat. Super easy to control with the phone through their Nest app. This also works with Amazon's Alexa, but let me give you a few words of caution. You must be very specific with your commands. Do yourself a favor if you plan on controlling this with voice via Alexa, look up the list of commands you can currently use with it. But other than that! very very pleased.

It's my second nest thermostat and I installed it in a new (to us) home. I debated with the Ecobee this time around but ended up sticking with what I knew. It's great to be able to install it right out of the box without any extra tools needed. I'd recommend the Nest to anyone because it's easy to use and install. Beyond that, the Ecobee seems to do similar things.

At first I was a skeptic but it turns out I was totally wrong. Home automation and saving money just seemed like it would be too much work. In reality it was very easy to install and to learn how to use. In fact, after having it for a little over a month now i actually saved a lot of money and it's nice to see my area's comparison (how I used energy opposed to others in my area). Very cool gadget!

No question, Nest makes THE BEST functioning smart thermostats that anyone can purchase. Ease of use is A+++++++ and the connection/control to their app is equally A++++. It can be as basic as 'set up and go' or you can lean in further to its total functionality. I love my Nests and the gen3 is tremendous.

I loved the older thermostats, and this is even better. Bigger display and better features. I love the separate temperature sensors that I can put in different rooms and make the temp in those rooms the target setting at different times on the day. I wish it was fully customized instead of just morning, day, evening and night, but it's definitely a major improvement!
