And it makes me want to update all the electronics/services in my home. Love being able to turn up my heater from my bed. And love keeping track of my habits (heating and cooling) and how that affects my utility bills.

Additionally this thermostat functions with our Amazon Echo so voice commands from the kitchen control the thermostat. Beautiful equipment.

It is also really nice to be able to make adjustments using the app even when you aren't home. An added bonus is a rebate from our utility company for using the product.

It allows me to spot check the temperature at the house to ensure it stays cool for my dogs. Incredibly easy install and very user friendly app. Don't hesitate to give this product a run!

Better than the Honeywell

The Nest looks more sleek and modern as opposed to using the Honeywell thermostat. It’s nice using the phone app to get the ac running.

Best purchase made.

I love that it is easy to use for our kids as well, and shows weather. I'm still watching it to see if it "learns" our behavior and starts adjusting temperature automatically. Still too early to tell. The phone app to control it seems fine, but nothing special. I'll be looking to see how far away I can get from home and still control it.

It claims to be smart and can adjust the temperature in the room, however, I always feel the temperature to be lower than I wanted, although I adjust manually every day, it still sets the temperature low.

We understand your concern about the lower temperature reading, and the first thing we recommend is to start by checking the location of the thermostat, as it may impact the accurate temperature reading. Here are a couple of troubleshooting steps to help isolate the issue further, as well as identifying that the thermostat is not impacted by external factors:
- Restart the thermostat by pressing the display until it shows a black screen and wait until it's back up and running. A restart should be sufficient to re-calibrate them and show an accurate value.
- Check if the Sunblock feature is on or off. Open Nest App > Select the thermostat > Tap Settings > Look for Nest Sense > Turn off/on Sunblock
- Nest Thermostats in the U.S. and Canada are typically installed on a wall. Check for proximity of the thermostat to: air vents / electrical outlets / appliances / plumbing (hot water pipes) / warm air in the wall behind the thermostat. This may also affect the reading for the temperature.
- Some wireless access points cause the Nest Learning Thermostat’s wifi chip to overheat, which affects the thermostat’s detected ambient temperature. We suggest disconnecting the network for 24 hours, and monitoring the temperature.
Different brands of thermostats and thermometers have different ways of measuring and reading the ambient temperature. Normally, a temperature difference of 1-2°F can be negligible, but if it is greater than that, and should the steps we highlighted not identify the issue, then we may need to have a look at what may be causing it and work on improving your experience.
