It's a very practical tool for a busy life. With 2 little kids, we used forget to turn the thermostat down at the right time. Programmable thermostats stick to a schedule and we had to "hold" the temperature when our schedule changes, and forget to change back. This thermostat learns our schedule . Also, the home/away mode detects our presence and adjusts the temperature settings to "ECO" mode, using less energy. These are small things, but add up to a lot of energy savings.

I have had three of these. Work great! No issues. Love that I can pre program my whole week.

This thermostat is unlike any I have had in that it can take the weather into account so it will try to reach setpoint by my personal schedule or learned schedule. Because I have a Radiant heat source it naturally takes a log time to get to setpoint which isn't the thermostat's fault. But it will take the heat momentum into its learning calculations in order to turn the heat off even if it's below the setpoint because of expecting it to naturally get warmer after my gas turns off. Really cool thermostat. I only had an issue of not charging it before I set it on the wall (which I recommend to do for 45 minutes) and it never quite got enough charge and therefore turned its wifi radio off. I called nest support and they helped me understand that it could have just sat too long at Best Buy waiting to be purchased and lost some charge.

I'd had one of the original Nests from a few years ago, and I wanted to update my thermostat as I was getting new HVAC equipment. I thought it was pretty easy to set it up before, but now, it's even easier. The changes it's made in my bill have been extraordinary, and I can change the settings from my phone. Where's my rocket pak, then??

I like the fact that I was able to do the installation by myself, it was super easy and didn't take more than an hour.

This thermostat works great. Look slightly better then the 2nd generation. No problems or complaints with this new nest yet.

This is the best thermostat I have ever bought. So convenient and you can easily change the temperature from your bed.

The Nest is great for allowing me to control the temperature of my home at anytime and from anywhere. It is awesome that it can be done via an app on my phone. The one thing I have found to be difficult is setting up a daily schedule.
