I LOVE the ability the NEST app has to allow me to change the temperature from my phone anywhere I want. It is fantastic to cool the house before I get home, and walk into a nice, cooled home. It works well with Siri and Google Mini. It starts to lean the habits of my family, and then create a schedule for cooling the house according to what we usually like. It even can recognize if we are in the house, and if we aren't it will turn on "eco mode". Yes it is pricey, but I highly recommend it.

Works very well! I haven't had any problems using this with any of my Google home products or with the Nest app. I especially love having the ability to control the temperature remotely so that I can make sure my cats are okay when I am away.

I bought this thermostat 2 months back as my old thermostat stopped working due to repeated power outages during the last winter storm. The installation was very easy and I find the functionality and features very useful, especially the fact that I am able to control the temperature from my phone. I am hoping that I will get less electricity bill this summer. I will highly recommend this product.

Replaced a unit I had from Cox Home Life that malfunctioned. Wanted ability to control by an app. Easy to install and set up. Labeled wires and where to put them. Faceplate was nice addition because former was rectangular and this unit is round. I purchased a sensor for use in another room, living room, where there is a noticeably different temperature then where this unit is installed. In the app I can set it to go by the temperature where I put the sensor, and likewise would be able to do several rooms that way. The one thing in still trying to learn is the unit going in to Eco mode, why and possible settings to change the threshold as to when it goes to Eco mode. All said, seems pretty versatile. Anxious to refine my knowledge

After moving to a new home and watching my FPL bills rise for a while I vowed to change all of that in 2018. After comparing it to other competitors I was hooked on this one due to the ease of installation and the good reviews. Also it was 50$ off the regular price and it came with a free Google Home Mini. Do not be intimidated to install this on your own it's not hard. The instructions it comes with and YouTube to be on the safe side did it for me. Before installing please make sure to shut your homes power panel breaker prior to uninstalling the old thermostat and installing the Nest (be safe). Take a picture of the way the wires were installed on your old thermostat prior to uninstalling. In doing so this will ensure that your connections are connected correctly. Test your wires one more time prior to uninstalling to make sure no power is running (avoid being shocked or damaging anything). I did not use/install the base-plate because I wanted a modern, sleek, and clean look. The stainless steel dial is very smooth and allows you to navigate through the settings with ease. It takes the Nest a couple of days to remember what temperatures you like when you are home and at what times you are home. After a couple of days Nest will ask you if you want it to automatically go into "Away Mode" when it senses you are not home (you decide opt in or opt out - I opted in). I recommend opting in to "Away Mode" for better energy savings. You can control when you are home and when you are away during those few days or if you opt out of "Away Mode" then you control it all. Smartphone application is free and easy to use. The new "Far-Sight" feature is awesome and can catch me at approximately 10 feet away even in the dark. When Nest detects any motion it will illuminate with what the current temperature is. This is how it can tell if you are home or not and can automatically place itself in "Away Mode" for energy savings. Being able to control everything from the application on my smartphone itself is so awesome (fan, cooling/heating mode, humidity level, away/home mode, set a schedule, history, etc.). Nest will remind you when you should change your air filters on your furnace because it can base it upon how many times it turns on and off. Significant drop in energy consumption can be seen on my gas bill after month 1. Due to this my father purchased the item as well and has no complaints thus far.

Replaced a Honeywell thermostat with the Google Nest. Love it so far; easy to install, setup and use. Learning aspect working great and notice an overall improvement in keeping a steady, comfortable temperature.

I have been wanting a Nest thermostat for a few years but the previous reviews weren't that great a few years ago when it came out. I finally broke down and got one and really loved it. I thought I'd need to hire an electrician but it was really simple to install it myself. It comes with everything you need in the box. I waited a week after installing it to make sure everything worked well and it was perfect. So perfect that I bought another for my downstairs thermostat and it's working perfectly as well. I love it.

This little device is awesome. I wish I had upgraded sooner. Pretty easy to install, clear easy to follow instructions. App setup was very easy too. Best part is being able to control temp in the house when I'm not there, I like the "away" feature, I don't use it but I can see how it is very nice addition to apps feature, saving money by not heating/cooling house when you're not there. Awesome little device!

I've been running my thermostat for a couple of months now, and I'm loving it. Installation was very easy with the provided instructions and online video, and use through both the Nest and Google Home apps is simple. I've also noticed reduced energy usage since switching to this thermostat, which is saving some money on my power bill every month. A great purchase!

The Nest Thermostat is great for what it does. I would recommend buying the 3 extra sensors because it works a lot more efficiently depending on where your thermostat is. The setup is very straight forward, I’d advise getting the app first since the instructions are on the app. Overall, I would recommend this product if you are looking for saving money from the bills or if you want a smart system.
