Every house you ever lived in has had a thermostat of some kind, but this new breed of smart thermostat is amazing! You can adjust the thermostat from anywhere. When its colder in the house than you would like and your upstairs in bed don't bother getting out of bed just turn it on with Alexa or your smart phone. Easy install just two screws and two wires.

We had a previous generation Nest thermostat installed in the house we sold. We liked it so much we decided to put one in our new house. The physical installation was very easy. They have a pre-installation checklist at the Nest website that will tell you whether the Nest is compatible with your HVAC system (you have to know the terminals in your old thermostat that are used). That will save you a purchase/return for incompatibility issues. One difference in the physical installation of the third generation Nest is they include an optional, white plastic cover plate to cover mounting holes left by the replaced thermostat. The setup of the thermostat was also straight forward. The only confusion I had was when I installed the app on my smart phone. The app was asking the same question the thermostat had asked during its setup, so I thought the app was trying to setup the thermostat a second time. So I cancel the app setup questions. Even though the app looked like it was set up, it wasn't. Eventually I went through the app's questions, finding the app was just pairing with the thermostat, not setting it up again. After less than a week of manually setting the temperature we wanted at various times, the Nest learned the pattern and adjusted the temperature automatically. We like the increased functionality of the third generation Nest thermostat. It's well worth the price.

We recently moved and after several years with the Nest Learning Smart Wi-Fi thermostat in our previous home, we just had to upgrade the thermostats in our new home. When wiring your thermostat you may run into an issue with the common wire, or rather the lack of a common wire. The common wire is what is constantly charging the thermostat and without one you may find that the thermostat goes offline to conserve power. I discovered that the builder of our home had tucked the common wire behind the wall as it wasn't necessary for our previous thermostats. Take a look and see if the common wire is there and if not, you might want to consider adding one. With constant power this thermostat is just about perfect but you'll want it connected to Wi-Fi constantly to make the best use of it. We have two of them in our home, one for upstairs and one for downstairs and we absolutely love them!

Easy to install for this tech dummy. Works great. Lots of options for adjusting your heating and cooling. Still exploring all the features. Would have liked to have a paper copy of the installation instructions in addition to the online version.

First word: WOW! The Nest is still in learning mode so this review will mostly be about installation. I was fully expecting to patch some holes and then measure + drill new holes to mount the Nest. Nope. It comes w/ a bracket that perfectly aligned w/ the existing holes for my old thermostat (Honeywell Chromotherm III). Screwed in the bracket, matched the colored wires to the corresponding Nest tabs, inserted the wires, and then mounted the Nest. Set-up was a breeze from there - just select language, enter your wi-fi password and you're done! It took me longer to replace a wall outlet as part of this same project than it did to get the Nest up and running. Literally less than 10 minutes! As for look and feel, the Nest is a beauty. It's heavy and feels solid, not cheap. As soon as I was done installing it, I was calling all my friends and family to get one of these! Nest thought of everything, it comes with a nice plate to fit over the bracket so it looks clean when mounted AND not only did they include a screwdriver (which fit the screws perfectly), it's a magnetized driver so you don't drop the screws when installing! Genius. The Nest is the gold standard in user friendly smart appliances.

Do you alway forget to adjust the temperate when leaving your house? Now you can do it from your phone at any time! Easy installation and very simple to use! I had a programable thermostat in my house before and I was only adjusting the temperature at night.. Now, since my schedule is different everyday, I can use the auto away, per-program or manually change the temp. from anywhere!

It was easy to install and set up. It is very convenient to be able to control it remotely and to set a schedule for the use.

I have enjoyed the process of turning my home into a smarter home. This product makes that so much easier also. Set it and forget it. I like the fact that I can always make adjustments through my smart phone and even control it with my bedside Google home unit. You cannot go wrong with this unit, unless you just don't like circles..

I followed the instructions to the letter. It absolutely would not come on. I unhooked it and reinstalled my old thermostat to make sure the issue wasn't on my end. Furnace came back to life with the old thermostat. I went to google for troubleshooting. One post I found said to use a USB cable and plug it into the back of the unit. It came on immediately. Then I unplugged it and reinstall it for the second time and all is well. The iPhone app is very good. I can control the temp from anywhere and it tells me how long it's been on and what the temp is inside and out. All things considered, I'd buy it again.

Wonderful product that has opened up many gates to my heating and cooling world! The flexibility of having an app is great. I was able to manage my houses heat while in the midwest and I live on the East Coast! It is awesome to make my house more advanced with this product but the simple installation and usage makes it a must buy!

I had a rectangular thermostat and the Nest came with a plastic adapter to cover the unpainted area which was exposed when the old thermostat was removed. I was concerned about installing this myself but it was relatively easy. I enjoy the ability to adjust the temperature via the Internet so the temperature is comfortable when I get home.

This is my second Nest thermostat for my second home and it’s reliable and sleek just like the first one. I bought white this time around and it’s a really stark white that looks good against the stainless steel. It works perfectly and setting up was easy. Great buy and it was on promo!

I had an old incredibly difficult to use thermostat that was summer than a pile of bricks and I am love new tech so I thought I would splurge on the best after hearing good things about it. So far so good. I like how easy it is to use and install. Can control my temp on my phone even when I am not at home which is neat. It even learns my habits and takes care of the temp for me.

Just installed this thermostat in our home and can now control and have access to and control my home’s temperature from afar. Quality product with an easy install. Replaced a Honeywell Lyric thermostat that worked OK, but not as seamlessly as the Nest. Highly recommend.

Love this nest system. I can control everything. It is very user friendly and compatibile with phones where you can us an app to control the systems.

I’m very happy with my choice. It was easy to install once I looked up installing from YouTube. I think nest should create a digital instruction manual to go with their product. Product is easy to use overall set it and forget it essentially.
