Although I am happy with the two nest thermostats that I purchased I was not happy with the nest website, specifically where you enter what wires your current thermostat has and it tells you if the nest will work. Basically it says the nest will work for me (what it doesn't say is that you kinda have to hack it to work) After reading about horror stories online doing it the way nest says to (for my situation) I went ahead and pulled new thermostat wire to both zones and upgraded my zone relay switch box. I only splurged for the nests because after the sale I got both for 400 then I got 200 back from my gas company as a rebate. In the end I paid 200 total for both which was awesome..... then I had to tack on about 40 for new wire and 110 for the new relay box (not to mention hiring a professional to install the box if you aren't the type of person who feels confident doing the work. I did it myself and it's pretty easy, intimidating but easy). I still saved but now it doesn't feel like such a great savings haha. There are cheaper options that do the same thing but nothing will be as cool as a nest. It's definitely a splurge item. If you plan on just buying this and installing it make sure you have at least 3 wires behind your current thermostat and one of them is a constant 24v (this is assuming you are using the thermostat for heat only, heat and ac will require more than 3 wires)

This is a fantastic thermostat. The setup and installation are absurdly simple, and comprehensively documented. Even with one small difference in my setup from standard, the online documentation had a solution and I was directed there by the device itself during install. What thoughtful design that is. As for its "intelligent functionality", the Away feature took about a week to learn my habits and the device does a better job than my old unit (programmable) did at keeping things at the temperature it says it is holding. Haven't had a chance to fully rely on the A/C yet, as it's winter, but the heater and fan have been without issue. The A/C was tested and worked during install, however. We really adore the way it "greets" you as you walk by, too. It's non-intrusive, silent, and helpful to see the current status of the system at a glance.

We have moved houses, inheriting and installing a variety of thermostats in the last several years. After again researching options and talking to the technicians when we recently upgraded our A/C, we went with the Google Nest throughout our home. There are less expensive choices on the market, but for us Google Nest has proved to be the right option. We like both the clean design and easy user interface. We prefer to turn a dial to control the temperature than to use a touchscreen or buttons, etc.

Love it so far, I like the away feature! I had to do it myself the first couple of times but after that it was automatic. I also love the feature that knows when you get home and sets the temperature to what you like.

My only error was not getting it sooner! Great product, easy to install and it works! Instructions were easy and from what I hear, customer service is also excellent. Product was recommended by an hvac technician.

We bought this thermostat after receiving a coupon from our electric company. My husband installed it with great ease. It’s so convenient to be able to adjust temps from your phone. Definitely worth every penny!!

I have had all the generations of Nest Thermostats. I love em. Great product. Easy to install. Great warranty and great customer service when an issue arrived with an earlier model. Cannot say enough nice things about Nest. Highly recommend!

The nest is just so amazing and easy to work with. All the features are so cool, especially having access to turn on the heater in the winter, using my phone on the nest app, when I'm about to go home from work.

If you follow the directions this will be an easy install. I installed this thermostat myself and it took about 15-20 minutes to install. I had an issue with it blowing hot air instead of cold air mind you...it was 90 degrees outside and two degrees cooler than the devils soccer field inside. My gut reaction was to return it and give up, but I decided to call the Nest help desk. The tech was super helpful and he asked for the pics that I had taken of the wires (I followed the directions), and he was able to diagnose that it was a settings issue not a wiring issue. I’ve had the thermostat for about two weeks now, and I haven’t had any issues with it. Also, I can control my AC from my phone!!! How cool is that!

This is a must have. This product was a super easy installation for my husband and looks super stylish and sleek on the wall. App was easy to download and easy to use. I love the memory feature it has at it is saving us energy (and $).

I'm impressed with this product from start to finish. I first check on-line on the Nest website before I purchased the Nest Gen. 3 Thermostat to make sure it was compatible with my furnace. Simple go to their website click on the link upload a picture of your current theromostat wiring and overnight I received a response back with a photo of what my install needed to be. The hardware all is all great quality and well made and everything you need to install it is included in the box and is very easy to install. I'm very please so far and would recommend it!

This Nest replaced an earlier model Nest that did not seem to work correctly. The new Nest works as expected without any issues. Easy to install.

Wanted a thermostat I could control remotely, including sitting on the couch. Took a little getting used to, but it performs well. Very satisfied

Love the nest thermostat. Nice look. Easy to use. Sadly couldn't get one to work with my upstairs unit for some reason but the main downstairs always works great

I keep it in my house, miles away, It keept the temp at exactly 55 and continues to work when the inter net is off (of course, you can't see that it is working. We use it to warm up the place before we get there.

The amount of energy saved using this product is amazing. You can manually adjust the temperature, set a schedule for the temperature daily or have it learn your temperature routine and automatically adjust it based on that.

Excellent product, easy to install, you can see the savings from the first week.

This thermostat learns my habits so well. I never have to change the temperature. When I leave the house it raises the temperature. When I get home it lowers without me moving a muscle.

The app is easy to use. The product is great. Best Buy’s installation team was smart and quick.
