Replaced a first generation ecobee (2011) with this thermostat. It is very easy to install (thanks to miniaturization of electronics - new ecobee has evolved similarly) but best if one connects a common wire to keep the battery charged (instructions not as clear on this). User interface is simpler than ecobee's (e.g., can set a new temp without having to specify for how long) but reports are nowhere near as detailed or useful. Sensors for room occupancy are far too sensitive and commonly indicate someone is home when we are gone for the weekend. Best to shut them off when away. Of course, these are nits and the product is very good, overall!

Install and setup was simple, only complaint is the wire labels were useless and fell off. It kinda learnt my schedule already in a week

Heard good things about this little guy but I had to return it and was unable to use it do to me purchasing the wrong color.

Wasn't sure if this learning thermostat was going to work with the wiring i had, but to my surprise it worked perfectly.

I love being interconnected to my life, but also with my house. This thermostat has learned when we get up, what temps we like and has saved us money on our heating and cooling.

The first Nest Smart Thermostat I bought lasted about 4 months and the wi-fi card stopped working. No matter what I did, I could not get it reconnected. I had Best Buy send a technician from Geek squad to check it out and he couldn't get it reconnected to wi-fi either. It wouldn't even look for wi-fi networks. He decided it was the wi-fi card. Since I'm a TotalTech member I had the old one uninstalled and and new Nest installed after almost two weeks of mix ups on the scheduling of the uninstall and install. Best Buy now farms out this work to a second party instead of using the Geek Squad and they couldn't get their act together except for one guy who finally helped me and did both the uninstall and install on the same day so I wouldn't have to go without A/C in 100 degree plus temperatures overnight. Now the new thermostat is acting up. At first everything was fine and I could control it from the thermostat, my Nest app and by voice using Alexa. Now Alexa voice control won't work and I can't get it reconnected and I'm at a lost. I'm afraid to go back to Best Buy because of what happened before so I'm just going without voice control, which I miss at night when I'm in bed.

Love this product It really cuts down on the utility bills, I was not sure if it would but now im a believer! the only neg that i have is that the time in digital only does military time? anolog looks just like a clock, however when you do digital you cant change the format from 24 hour to 12 hour?

It takes a little getting used to but love the way the Nest technology integrates into a smart home. And helps manage cooling costs. Saved $200 in July and August alone.

What can I say. Nest has the market and there is a reason for that. This is the 5th nest i own in my properties and I will continue to buy them in the future.

The thermostat was a little difficult to get set up. The instructions are a little confusing. Once I did get it set up in the app, I have found this a very great addition to our home. I really love that it learns the patterns of occupancy in the house.

We bought this nest thermostat from Best Buy and they didnt have the color we wanted in stores. An associate ordered it to our house and it came that week!

I bought two Nest Thermostats. One broke down in the middle of night called Nest customer service and they shipped a replacement overnight. Nest customer service is excellent.

So far good but thhere is a bug it wont connect to wifi and you have to call customer care.

The guys were very professional and knowledgeable There were fast and installed the equipment in record time. Excellent service

I like having (3) thermostats on one app. I do not like the fact that Google now requires an account in order to use them.
