Nest thermostat changes its temperature automatically due to some factors like schedule, learned habits (auto schedule), and Home/Away Assist which makes your thermostat go to ECO mode. You have an option to use it as a traditional programmable thermostat, and you can manually set the temperature and create your schedules for the thermostat to follow. Besides turning off the Auto Schedule feature, we also suggest turning off your Home/Assist, and clearing the existing schedules by selecting Settings > Reset > Schedule > Reset again.

Kept saying it wasn't charging even after talking with support, ensuring wiring was correct, and paying for an electrician to check the system. Also, in the event of power outage this doesn't have a battery source backup.

Google knows of the issue, and working with customer service is a nightmare. This is our 4th replacement thermostat in 8 months. When it works, the integration to our house network is seamless. But COME ON.

After chatting with Nest online extensively they came back and said I needed to have a NestPro install my Nest due to the type of furnace I have. I contacted 3 of them per the Nest site, yet only had 1 respond. Needed to say, the Nest is not yet installed. Sigh. Maybe my house will be Smart soon - but it needs more schooling than anticipated.
