Not the cheapest but the quality is outstanding. If was made by ex Apple designers so you can expect the packaging and quality of product to be top notch. NEST works with Alexa and SimpliSafe so it is covered by both my other home automation items. Also this is my 2nd one... and plan to keep in the NEST family.

This thermostat did not work on my AC. The AC would start up then shut off. Had to pay person to install, uninstall and put in old thermostat and couldn’t return the thermostat. This purchase was an expensive mistake

Especially when it comes to having personal energy assistant. If you are patient you can learn how it thinks and you can strategize how you want your house to comfort you both harmonically, monetarily, comfortably.

Once it falls, your house has no climate control. Nest did not stand behind their product. Better to adjust manually a solid state thermostat, than be in a situation like me. I purchased a new one, to avoid a house freezing over winter night when mine failed. No response from nest from my communication. A wonderful idea. It has to last longer and be more reliable.
