The one thing I wish it did would be to switch between the AC and the furnace. You have to tell Google to change heat to xx or change AC to xx rather than just saying set temperature to xx. I guess it wouldn't be such an issue if you weren't trying not to awaken anybody else because nobody remembered to change from AC to furnace or vice versa before we went to bed.

I have had a service person here twice to correctly set the device and it is still not right. I have one of the same brand in another home that can be set to my needs.I do not want the device overriding what I set it to. No one seems to know how to do that from the Geek Squad.

I have a heat pump with emergency heat, and love the advanced features the Nest offers to better control how the system works. The brass finish doesn't exactly match my furnishings, brass really does vary from brand to brand, but it still very elegant.

Hearing from friends and HVAC pros to avoid Nest. I had Honeywell smart Thermostats at previous house and they worked great. I am going to buy Ecobees to replace the Google ones.

I have had it for 2 months now, and I love it. I can access it on my phone from anywhere, and it automatically adjusts based on how I previously adjusted it. So far, it has saved me a decent amount on my energy bill
