The Nest Learning Thermostat works with 95% of 24V heating and cooling systems, including gas, electric, forced air, heat pump, in-floor radiant, oil, hot water, solar, and geothermal. For dual fuel type systems, professional installation is recommended since their wiring and setup can be complicated.

It was such an awesome change in the ability to control the AC/heating system that we purchased a second unit for upstairs. Anyone who hates paying utility bills should purchase one.

We have it set to 75. Have all the app and device settings that are associated with eco or scheduling. Wont buy another.

Yes, it looks great and the idea of this seems amazing, however, it cannot even do the main thing you buy it to do. Worked for sometime and then BOOM. Try cooling my home and then put on 2+ hour delays and never meets the target temp. and then just runs and runs pushing cool air through the vent jacking up my bills. Just got a tune up on all HVAC and furnace equipment and called the support contact at Google and WHAT A JOKE. That experience took hours of troubleshooting and then was told it was my HVAC and they weren't going to replace it. Even though the specialist that came out said the thermostat display was the cause. DITCH the NEST and got a ECOBEE.

The app is really helpful in saving energy and you can monitor your energy use. I think the best part is even if you leave you can log into your app and place the NEST into AWAY mode which allows energy savings.

Being able to control everything from my phone, all of the Homeaway settings, and the energy saving is totally worth it! Get it!

Installed and it worked like a charm for about 6 months. Then it kept disconnecting from WIFI and only able to work manually. Then it quit altogether. Best Buy total home services simply opened the second I hadn’t opened yet and replaced it three months ago. They couldn’t get it to work either. Worked ok for three months and when we needed the air to work, it started blowing heat. Followed all the instructions found online and nothing worked. Had our heat and ac guy show up today and he checked everything and reinstalled our 15 year old old thermostat and all is fine and working. Complete waste of money. Bought hoping to save and I can go back to moving the thermostat on my own every day.
