Hey there, JustinP. We’re sorry to hear you had a problem with getting the right temperature with the Nest Learning Thermostat. Here’s some troubleshooting steps to remedy the issue:

1. Disable learning for the temperature schedule: When Auto-Schedule or Smart Schedule is turned on, it learns from the adjustments you make to optimize your schedule. You can manually edit the existing schedule, create an entirely new one, or turn off these learning features.

2. Turn off or adjust Eco Temperature: Your Nest thermostat gives you a temperature range you can select from when you set an Eco Temperature. The Eco Temperature ranges you can choose from are: 40-70°F (4-21°C) for heating mode and 76-90°F (24-32°C) for cooling mode.

Hi Alicss, we’re thankful for your feedback, and we’re glad that you find the Nest Learning Thermostat great. While you can control and manage the thermostat settings using the app even when you’re not at home as long as your thermostat and Home app (phone or tablet) are both online, the Nest thermostat will show offline in the app if it’s not connected to your Wi-Fi, and you won’t be able to manage the thermostat settings using your phone or app. However, you can change the behavior of your Google Nest thermostat in its settings using the thermostat display. Nest Learning Thermostats are designed to help save you energy while making your home comfortable enough. However, if you're using a heat pump system and your heating system isn't heating fast or warm enough, you may change the heat pump balance feature and adjust the heating according to your needs. This feature combines your heat pump and auxiliary (AUX) heating to achieve your heating requirements. Heat Pump Balance lets you select a level of comfort and savings that you like: more comfort, more savings, or a balance between the two. You can choose between Max Comfort, Max Savings, Balanced or Off. Choosing Max Comfort will help you reach the heating target temperature faster. Keep in mind that using this setting will incur additional cost since it will be using both your heat pump and auxiliary heating.
