Couldn’t get it to work - called HVAC company and they said they always had issues with it. Ended up returning it and going with Ecobee, which we’re very happy with

Only get this if you don't mind the chance that an electrical surge will turn off the thermostats ability to be controlled by apps.... So if you're away from home and it's below freezing.....you may come home to an ice box!

We're sorry to hear about this experience you've had with your Nest. If the Nest for some reason loses its internet connection, as long as there's power going to the Nest, this would still act as a standard thermostat and continue to control the homes HVAC system. Nest

It did not work for me. The unit kept sending signals to my boiler, made my home anobe 90s. I had to put my old thermostat to shut off. Not so smart.

Hi dumbo, thanks for posting a review. We regret to hear that the Nest Learning Thermostat isn’t working as expected.

Regarding the erratic behavior you observed with the thermostats, we'd like to know more about it to understand and offer a resolution. However, if the thermostats kick in at random times on their own, this is a part of the learning process. Nest Learning Thermostat has the feature Auto-Schedule that learns from the temperature changes you make on the thermostat over time and then creates its own schedules. You can turn off this feature to control the thermostat schedules all by yourself. Here's how you can turn it off:

      With the Nest app:
      - Open the Nest app and select your Nest thermostat.
      - Select Settings and then Auto-Schedule.
      - Tap the switch to turn it off.

      On your thermostat:
      - Press the ring and choose Settings and then Nest Sense and then Auto-Schedule and then Off.

We also recommend clearing the existing schedules by selecting Settings, then Reset, then Schedule and Reset again.

We’re hoping that you’ll give Nest Learning Thermostat another chance to improve your experience. If you need further assistance, our support team is always here to help. Please feel free to contact us anytime here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

$250 bucks and it lasted a year and 10 days! Just enough for the warranty to expire! The wifi is blown so this unit and the remote temperature sensor are now worthless.

Bought this on a lark. Was intrigued by the ability to control remotely when away by using my iPhone. I am no electrician by a longshot but the installation instructions and website interactive help made the setup very simple. Offsite control with my phone is easy, and I can also control with my Amazon Echo. Self learning as well as programmable more. Attractive unit. Would recommend without hesitation.
