It's a very practical tool for a busy life. With 2 little kids, we used forget to turn the thermostat down at the right time. Programmable thermostats stick to a schedule and we had to "hold" the temperature when our schedule changes, and forget to change back. This thermostat learns our schedule . Also, the home/away mode detects our presence and adjusts the temperature settings to "ECO" mode, using less energy. These are small things, but add up to a lot of energy savings.

We likely would have gone for the 2nd generation and skipped the added cost for a "learning" tstat. Easy to use, looks good, but we had to by-pass the "learning" aspect which over and under cooled for us.

I've always wanted one of these, but just never got around to getting one. I recently put in new central air conditioning at my sister's house and decided to finally get one. It is such a nice thing to have, now the central air will no longer be on unnecessarily and it is just a great feeling to have control over it from where ever you are. I loved it so much that I added two more E versions and I plan on getting 1 more to complete every zone in the house.

I like the fact that I was able to do the installation by myself, it was super easy and didn't take more than an hour.

Second time we have purchased one of these, easy set up and works great with the second room sensor!

Had the thermostat for about 2 weeks now and love that fact that I can use my cellphone to operate the thermostat and the best part is using Alexa.

Nest's cost a pretty penny, but worth it. Well built. Excellent Instructions. Easy install. Full of features. Love the app.
