NEST was auto off within the hour when I checked my phone to turn it off that way. I haven't gotten a bill yet but I suspect I will be saving quite a bit of money and it will pay for it self soon enough

My house is staying at a much steadier temperature and it feels like it. When we leave the house, the house actually cools down to save us money. It is so cool. It is fantastic...it learns your daily routine and automatically adjusts temperature to those times. Also work really well with Alexa...so i can tell her to turn the temp up or down if I need it adjusted.

I am able to turn the furnace on or off through the app and I do not have to get up to do it. No walking down the stairs. I am still learning the thermostat and all it has to offer but so far so good!

I bought two Nest Learning Thermostats, one for each floor of my house. I set the first one up and the app kept freezing on the same page. After contacting customer support their answer was to uninstall, reset to factory settings, reinstall and if it happens again let the app freeze and wait 10 minutes. That did work, and I had the same problem installing the second thermostat. They worked ok for the first two weeks and then the first thermostat failed. It was a really hot day, and I had the cool cycle going. But I noticed it was getting gradually warmer, not cooler. So I check the thermostat which said “72” in bold numbers, but when I checked the app is said it was 80 in the house. So I tried to turn the thermostat down by one degree, and it said it would take 2+ hours to cool. I went to the Google website and it said this happens when the battery dies, but this model doesn’t have a battery. So I called the support and they said it’s probably the AC compressor. But it wasn’t because the thermostat on the other floor was cooling. So they claimed it was the wiring. So I swapped the thermostats (moved the bottom floor to the top floor and vice versa), but that caused the second one to fail too. Now they both said it would take 2+ hours to cool by 1 degree. The support desk person said I should return them, but BestBuys’s return policy is 15 days, and I was 5 days over. I just pulled them down and reinstalled my old thermostats and the AC works perfectly. Don’t buy these crappy pieces of junk.

It changes temperature on you all of the time and I can’t figure out how to shut that off.

To provide you with more information about the learning feature, after approximately the first week of use, your thermostat should have learned your temperature preferences and established a schedule based on that. While it continues to learn, it becomes less sensitive to each change you make. If you're facing issues with the Auto-Schedule feature, you have a couple of options below:
- First, you can reset the Auto-Schedule feature, which will initiate the learning process again, similar to the initial week of use. To reset your Nest Learning Thermostat, check out this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247296
- Alternatively, if you prefer, you can completely disable the Auto-Schedule learning feature and use your thermostat as a traditional programmable thermostat. For step-by-step instructions on these processes, please refer to this help article: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9209007
