The smart side of remembering what you like does not work very well. I eventually had to go to the login page and just set a schedule. You can do this on the cheaper model.

It faults out for not charging so disconnects from WiFi or RC wire connection broken and my original thermostat is same wire set up and have not had any problems other than it’s not WiFi.

Nest thermostats connectivity issues could be related to power issues, which may occur when your system wires can't deliver enough power to keep the thermostats charged up. The thermostat uses the voltage from your system’s wires to keep its internal battery charged, so if the power from your system is insufficient, the thermostat will run on battery for a while but will turn off features like Wi-Fi to preserve battery life before it must turn off completely.
Here’s are some troubleshooting steps that might help in the event that your thermostat has connectivity issues:
- Restarting your thermostat will refresh your connection. You can restart it by going to Settings > Reset > Restart.
- Unplug your Modem/Router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Check for sources of Wi-Fi interference (cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, bluetooth devices, wireless video equipment)
- Check your battery level, press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu Settings > Technical Info > Power. Look for the number labeled Battery. If the battery charge is below 3.6V, there might be a power issue.
- If this is related to a power issue, disconnect the thermostat from your Wi-Fi. Check if the thermostat maintains a charge after.

It was too pricy for my current budget. I may buy one in my new home next year. Hope the prices go down

I anticipate a significant savings on our power bill. I'll come back in 120 days and update. I believe this is a very smart purchase. Easy to install and it practically sets itself up.

It might be in my mind, but both my wife and I swear that after we installed this thermostat, our hose seemed more comfortable, with less drafts and too-hot/too-cold periods throughout the day.

The heating and cooling is obviously more modern than that, but they aren't brand new. When we purchased the home they were already there. It has been nice to be able to review and control the temperatures regardless of if we're home, as well as track how much we're using the heating and cooling system. Definitely recommend and pleased we were able to get it to work with our system.

I have both thermostats in one app and this keeps me cool as a cucumber.
