To start go onto the website to determine if it is compatible with your current Hvac system all you need for this is to pull if you're current thermostat and see what color you're wires are. You either are good or not. Than go and buy one. Packaging of the product was great. It comes with everything you need to install it. It literally took me 10 minutes to install and about 10 minutes to go through the setup of the thermostat. It will take sometime for the thermostat to learn hence a learning thermostat. All in all I am confident in my purchase and that over time it will pay for itself and help save me some money. The nest app for your phone is very basic and simple to use. In the app you can select you're temps, eco mode, turn up/down temps and more. I gave it 4 stars only because I have had it for a short time.

After comparing several thermostats, I decided on this one and at Best Buy because it was at a good price and reviews were good. It’s easy to use just for the time it goes offline and I can’t control it before I get home.

Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings. If you’re having a dual band connection, we recommend using the 2.4Ghz frequency band since it is more stable compared to 5Ghz especially if there’s a lot of devices connected to the same network.

Keep in mind though, It says it is compatible without a C Wire. Chances are it will probably be needed! Love the user interface on the app!

I love the learning feature and than it can automatically adjust if you use the mobile app and link your phone. During the learning period, you'll come home and it'll be heating/cooling to get the house back to temp instead of already being there, but it does seem to be getting better. If you have a schedule that fluctuates a lot, it might get confused but you can always use the mobile app on the way home to turn off eco mode. Would buy again.
