Works well with my Alexa-powered smart home and has already started "learning" about my needs. Turns itself down at night and in the morning when I was feeling cold I walked over to it and before I could touch it it automatically turned on the heat - reading my mind! The only downside I have is that there are no good peripherals like sensors to put in different rooms or compatibility with smart vents. I'm very happy with it though it was easy to set up, looks great on the wall and even came with a cover plate to hide the bad paint job that was behind my old thermostat!

I turn my heat down when I go home for Christmas but I don’t want to be cold waiting for it to heat back up when I return, so whenever I am on my way back I can adjust my temperature so that when I walk in, it is at the temperature I like.

- Make sure your internet service is working.
- Check your app version. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Nest app
- Restart both your Nest Learning Thermostat. Restart your thermostat to refresh your connection. Once done, try to add it to your account in the app again.
- Restart your router and modem. Unplug your modem and router power cords. Wait for 30 seconds, then plug your modem and router back in.
- Check the settings on your Wi-Fi router or access point. Restrictive firewall security or parental control settings on your Wi-Fi router can sometimes block communication with Nest servers. Refer to your Wi-Fi router or access point documentation to learn how you can exempt the Nest thermostat from these restrictions.

I went ahead and created my own schedule for it. It seems like once or twice a month we would wake up and the heat was set so low we thought the furnace went out.

No matter what I did, I could not get it reconnected. I had Best Buy send a technician from Geek squad to check it out and he couldn't get it reconnected to wi-fi either. It wouldn't even look for wi-fi networks. He decided it was the wi-fi card. Since I'm a TotalTech member I had the old one uninstalled and and new Nest installed after almost two weeks of mix ups on the scheduling of the uninstall and install. Best Buy now farms out this work to a second party instead of using the Geek Squad and they couldn't get their act together except for one guy who finally helped me and did both the uninstall and install on the same day so I wouldn't have to go without A/C in 100 degree plus temperatures overnight. Now the new thermostat is acting up. At first everything was fine and I could control it from the thermostat, my Nest app and by voice using Alexa. Now Alexa voice control won't work and I can't get it reconnected and I'm at a lost. I'm afraid to go back to Best Buy because of what happened before so I'm just going without voice control, which I miss at night when I'm in bed.
