The phone app is amazing, and the ease of installing the product was helpful. That said, I have been unimpressed by the performance of the Nest. I replaced an basic thermostat with this product, and my bills have INCREASED $40-$50 a month, and that's with a set schedule where I let the house get warmer during the day when no one is home, and cool it off in the evening. Before, I just had one set temp all day. Currently, I'm not super happy with the overall performance.

I don't like that nest sold to google and my old phone app no longer works. The old app was very superior to the new one that we were forced to convert to. I hate the app so much I may eventually switch to something else next time I need to upgrade.

Furnace seems to cycle less often compared to my previous programable thermostat. With the rebates I received from the gas and electric company, plus the holiday discount Bestbuy ran this unit only costed me $50. I also purchase 2 of the protect products, so they all communicate with one another.
