Setup is fast and easy. This is our second Nest Protect so the new one paired with the existing immediately for mirrored alarms. Monthly test is announced and executed seamlessly. Haven’t changed battery in first unit since purchase 3 years ago. Provides peace of mind when we are traveling as well. It is expensive but provides value to justify the price.

Easy to install, works good with Nest App and if purchase more then one it will interact with each other. Does a daily checkup to make sure things are working and give status of battery life

The Nest Protect is an excellent smoke and CO2 detector. Installation was an absolute breeze, and setup on the Nest app was a 30 second job. This looks great with its unobtrusive design and is a great addition to our Nest setup and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Very easy to set up. I love the “nightlight” feature. It illuminates the hallway at night with a subtle light that activated when you approach. A feature that will help prevent tripping over things in the dark.

This is my families second one of these. Even on batteries they last forever. I think I’ve only had to switch out the batteries on my old one once we’ve had it for a year. We also love the night light feature.

Purchased a number of these for my home. Easy setup that the unit itself talks you through. After the first one was setup all the others were easier due to them duplicating much of the setup wirelessly. They all communicate to and through each other. If one goes into alarm mode they all will alert you of which one sounded the alarm first. Night light on motion is an added benefit that you can use or turn off. Really pleased.

This was a great addition to my home. The Nest Protect tests itself regularly, integrates with other Nest products and includes a motion detection night light. It was very easy to setup and install. I'm glad I finally made this purchase.

Added this Nest Protect because I've been VERY pleased with the Nest Thermostat I installed a few weeks ago. Very easy installation for the Nest Protect, and I really like how it also works as a night light when I walk down the hallway where it is installed.

Outstanding detector. Easy to set up and love the nightlight feature.

Love how this will not wake you up in the middle of the night if the battery is running low and will get notified instead. It can also notify you when smoke from cooking instead of going off. Also, the night light is a great add on.

I bought three of these for the home we just purchased. The install was easy. Setting it up on their software was painless. We really like the motion detected night light, which works great in our hallway. They are a bit pricey, but otherwise, no complaints.

Just bought my second Nest Protect for my home and I'm pleased at how easy the installs have been. Despite what the instructions say, you may have to drill into your drywall to get the mounting screws to go in. The products quickly connected to the Nest App and to my home network without any issues. I also loved that they are interconnected - when I tested one Nest Protect in a hallway, the other in the bedroom recognized the test and tested itself also. I'm looking to install a wired Nest Protect elsewhere in the home.

Install was some what involved as installed on ceilings. Purchased 2 for my 2 story home. Have existing smoke detectors, but the device is both a smoke detector & CO detector. Installed somewhat distant from existing smoke detectors, closer to bedrooms. Able to monitor devices with Nest App. My son was cooking and generated some smoke, detector sounded of warning alarm, alerted my phone as well as when the smoke was clearing-so it detects and continues to monitor. Also has nice touches as it can function as a night light. App also gives option to link to my Nest thermostat-if CO or smoke is detected, the thermostat can be turned off to help reduce circulating air and possible increase spread of fire/CO.

The device looks great. It was easy to install. What I like most is how you can easily check to make sure it is working by going to the Nest app on your phone. I have other smoke/CO alarms in my house but I really just have to trust that they are working.

Very nice that it detects for carbon dioxide and smoke. I bought one for my dad because he uses gas for alot of equipment and always worried about the possibility of carbon dioxide killing him. So I installed this at his house and setup on his phone very easily and now have peace of mind.

Easy to install. Night light is a great feature. Love the fact that these act in the same way as a wired smoke alarm given they are WiFi connected/smart.

The Nest detector is super simple to install, and the interface with your smart phone gives you peace of mind. The night light feature works really well, and the detector gives audible warnings of trouble (smoke) and then Fire (lots of smoke). A great value!

This was easy to set up and add to my Nest app. I bought the battery one because this is an old house and I don't have power available close by. I really like the nightlight feature. Ours is installed in the kitchen and it is the most likely fire alarm to go off. I miss the wave capability that was in the original version of this product because I can't reach the Nest Protect to silence it. The other option is my phone and that's just awkward. At least it gives you a warning before screaming at you.
