I bought this for my upstairs. I had recently bought the nest thermostat too. So I wanted to keep everything with the same app so I wouldn’t have a bunch of apps for smart home things. The setup was very easy. It does weekly sound checks and sends notifications to you if there is any issues or alarms. After having it for a week I went out and bought another one for my basement. I highly recommend this product.

Easy to install. Has night light feature (if desired) and can run self checks periodically. I can also monitor from my phone!

In turning my home into a smart home on the Google ecosystem, this was probably the easiest item to set up. I chose the battery operated one and was simple install both on the ceiling but also within the app. It constantly does self checks and keeps me posted if something is irregular. Highly recommend this product as well as the Google/Nest smart home products.

Robust functionality, easy installation and setup and integration with other NEST Protect and Thermostat

Very simple to set up. Love that it talks to me and that it lights our hallway at night with a motion detection night light.

Very satisfied with the NEST smart home CO/fire detector. Easy set up using iPhone app which walks you through the entire process. Nice app interface showing current status and test results from each day. App can be used to test and silence the alarms in addition to sending a warning to the phone if the alarm is sounding while you're away. A great feature that my family really likes on this Gen 2 model is the Pathlight which is a motion activated nightlight that illuminates the area when someone walks by.

We like the safety it provides to our home. It was simple to install and has worked flawlessly and the night light is pretty cool

I bought 2 of these to go with my Nest Thermostats. Install both physically and wirelessly were smooth. No problems, up and running on both of them within 15 minutes. Status has never been an issue and they have never disconnected from the network. Mobile alerts are awesome and the ability to shut them down remotely is a great feature. No more ladders needed. Also the alert between real smoke and steam is a great addition. Expensive but worth it.

As with most Nest/Google products the set up was quick and easy. Yes almost every other smoke/CO2 detector is cheaper but since I have many other Nest/Google products it integrates with the Home and has away from home access. We have animals and if the CO2 gets high it shuts the Nest thermostat off and notifies the cell and gives the heads up to get them out...

I have builder grade Kidde Smoke Alarms in my house. Even after replacing the batteries every year they never fail to go off in the middle of the night. I have been replacing them with these Nest units when that happens. They are an easy install and provide great piece of mind! They even function as a pathlight when it is dark and everything is controllable from an app on your phone or tablet.

Easy to install, looks great, and the nightlight feature makes it more than just a detector.

I now have 5 Protects and one Nest Thermostat and am pretty pleased with them so far. I have integrated them with SmartThings using community device handlers to get the best of both systems. I was hoping that the protects would be ok for a location near my kitchen (as they are photoelectric) but they are sensitive enough to go off from cooking bacon. They are very easy to silence from the app, however even when silenced they trigger lights if you have that integrated. I will be moving that unit farther from the kitchen as a result.

Haven’t had any issue so can’t tell a legit review BUT the lights at night are pretty cool when you walk by and connection to phone is seamless and simple.

Incredibly easy to install and set up wireless to ipad Mini3. Has motion detection nightlight with low or high brightness or can be turned off if you have wandering pets at night. I installed and programmed very easily, three units in an hour. I can't believe how nice these are. Really well made. I would highly recommend them and I have purchased some for my daughters condominium as well.

A breeze to setup. Love the warning system. The nightlight function works perfectly. I will definitely buy more of these.
