Really like this Smoke Detector, last very long on AAs batteries and sensitive enough to detect smoke and Co2, pair to the nest Apps to keep connected, no matter where you are. Wifi connection and colorful lighting. The chirping is real loud and alert on your phone as well.

Love this! Being able to know what goes on at your home while your away is great. Hidden feature...it also has a motion night light feature for those dark hallways and stairwells...avoid those middle of the night stubbed toes (we all know it'll be the pinky toe too!) Keep your family and pinky toes safe!!!

We’re very pleased with our Nest Protects. We love that we can see status and get alerts on our phones. And the side benefit that we’ve grown fond of is the pathway lighting, that turns each unit into a motion sensor faint light so you can see your way through a room in the dark. Very easy to install the battery powered version.

Opened the box, followed the instructions, set up the Nest Protect and that's it. The wifi is reliable on this product and never disconnects, it does what it is intended to do even on battery power. The Nest "Sense" light isn't as configurable on the Battery version like it is on the Wired version but it's a small tradeoff for the convenience of having a Battery powered version.

Head my warning- check every detector in the home prior to replacing to see us they are all the same. We only checked one, purchased 6 wired and come to find out 5 were battery only. We purchased them directly from Google and they did not allow us to return them so we bought the battery version from Best Buy. I like that they all talk to each other and can be tested regularly through the app.

I have two of these. They connect to each other and the app. Everything works awesome!

Like the interconnect ability. Haven't ( and hope not to) tried with carbon monoxide or a fire. With the app, you can see the status of all the alarms in your house, change settings, and battery health. If a battery is low, you are directed to the correct unit rather than all of them chirping and having to sort it out.

Now that my mother has dementia I always want to keep an eye on any problems at her house and this gives me alerts if something is wrong and checks to make sure it works every month and it really is a game changer and helps me feel better when I need to go to work or do other things

No annoying low battery alerts (the loud alarm sound that doesn’t stop in cheaper alarms) are not a problem. Easy install, I’d recommend borrowing a drill with a 5/64 drill bit to make it easier to put the screws into your ceiling or wall

A no brainier... It illuminates dark passage and syncs up with the nest thermostat...

I wouldn't say this is necessarily better or worse than any other smoke/CO2 detector on the market. But since I have a number of Nest and Google home products, and since it works with the Nest thermostat, it made sense for me. The installation is simple. The only hassle is if you make changes to your WiFi network, it doesn't do a great job of keeping up with the changes.

I want to slowly move towards a smart home, and with an 18 month old at home I thought the Nest Protect was the perfect start. It was easy to install and set up, although setup took a little longer than someone may like, but easy. It's kind of a very long term thing to review, so it would be nice to come back to it in a year or two to see how it is working. But so far it's been great!

The Nest smoke/CO detector is easy to install and add to your nest account. I like the night light that detects motion. This is the 5th one I've installed. I did have false alarm problems with most of the Gen 1 detectors but Nest replaced them with no problem. The Gen 2 detectors have been functioning without any false alarms. They do a monthly self test automatically. Recommended!

Easy to install and easy to set up. Very clear voice that talks to you and very loud too, which is a good thing. Connects to your best thermostat to better protect your home. If co is detected, it shuts off the heat of its on. Smoke detected, it'll turn off the ac so it doesn't spread through the house. Very good, plan on getting at least a couple more for the house, worth the price for certain!

Easy to install as everything required is in the box. Units worked just as promised.
