We picked this up to replace a basic smoke detector. What really sold us on it was that if there was an emergency while we're away but it's also nice that we can silence nuisance alarms and the integration with the rest of our smart home stuff is nice.

We were so happy with the first Nest Detector we bought, how easy it was to configure with the app (after watching the video, do yourself a favor and watch it first). We now have a house of detectors and like the feeling of knowing everything is safe and sound when we're away.

Love that there’s an app for these. So many great features. Easy to install and get up and running. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I purchased a few of these devices for my home, and I am happy with them so far. The set up took minutes, and the intercommunication between the devices is key for alerting on different levels of the home. Also very convenient to receive alerts see battery life on my phone.

Love that this device sends alerts to my iPhone. Game changer and simple. I love it!

It works, but a little sensitive. Ran a couple test and went off with steam, and the light smoke from the kitchen. It all depends where you will place it, I do recommend. Love that notifications get sent to your mobile device when it goes off.

I love that it has the ability to recognize steam vs smoke, something our other smoke detector couldn’t. With it being placed close to one of our bathrooms, its very important. Also connects to the Nest thermostat, which is a great feature.

I just installed this in my son's nursery - to go along with the Nest camera - and couldn't be happier to be able to check my phone at any time to see that everything is normal. Best of all - if you get more than one Nest alarm - one alarm sounds them all if anything's wrong.

This is such a well thought out and smart device for detecting smoke and CO. And, that i can control it from my iPhone is fantastic. I purchased 2 battery operated and 2 hard wired versions. They were a snap to install. I'm a very happy customer and user of this Nest product.

I love Nest's Thermostat and detector products. This one was to replace an expired non-Nest carbon monoxide detector. Install was a breeze, as usual with Nest products. I like how this one tests it's alarm by itself, something I don't do manually myself.

I love the night light part of this. It even lights up when my cats walk down the hallway. It has gone off a couple times due to the oven and it warms you in advance so you can turn it off. The alarm is very loud.

We bought this because we already have the Nest thermostat. We ended up buying two of the smoke alarms to replace old school devices so we could see them on line with the Nest app. We love the changing colored lights for alerts and the white light that illuminates at night.

I love my Nest Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarm. It's great having both combined into one product. I love the audible alarms and there's also a light, which serves as a nightlight. If you're looking to automate your home or have already done so, then this is a great addition.

I had an regular alarm detector that didn't go off when my daughter fried our microwave, but luckily i feel safe with our new google alarm that serves a dual purpose with alarm, carbon monoxide and night light.

Best smoke and carbon monoxide detector. I love how it speaks, easy to navigate on the app, and does not give false alarms at 3am like every other type of detector i had used prior to this one.

I have an older house that isn’t wired to have interconnected smoke alarms and this is perfect to have in your house. I have four of these now, one on each floor: basement, 1st floor, 2nd floor, and attic.

It was easy to set up and warns you when there's smoke before the loud alarm goes off which gives me a chance to mute it from my phone while I'm cooking. Exactly what I was looking for.

very easy to install and setup, only thing is need to replace this device after a few years.

I love this smoke detector. The battery is sealed and lasts a long time. The app lets you keep an eye on things and, perhaps best of all, is the added benefit of a motion activated night light. I highly recommend and would not use anything else in my home.
