Easy to install and set up. The night light feature is an added bonus.

Easy setup, great performance. I like the fact that if one goes off, they all go off. That way if the garage reports a fire, I get an alarm in the bedroom!

They are very easy to use and very reliable. This is my second detector, I am putting this one in the basement. I love the app that monitors all of my NEST devices and alerts me on my phone if I have an alarm!

Really great product, and much more useful than a traditional smoke/CO alarm. It offers great peace of mind because it lets us know if there's any smoke while away from home. I also love that it has a nightlight and can be silenced from our phone.

I've been meaning to smarten up my smoke detectors for a while now and I'm glad I did. It took no time at all to set up. I liked it so much I went out and bought more of them.

These things are great. I have had two prior in the downstairs and just added two more for the upstairs. They go forever on the batteries. Even with the nite lights in use. Highly recommend

Have first generation and have served their useful life. East to install and setup with the app. Gives notice for smoke and CO2. Never had an issue with the first generation unit.

Very happy with this smoke/carbon detector. Very user friendly. Not priced much more than a normal smoke/carbon detector. Your life and your families lives are priceless, so spending money on good detectors are worth every penny!

Replaced old detectors with Nest. They work great. Husband was at home cooking smoke set off alarm, I was notified on phone that smoke was detected downstairs. I called home to make sure everything was alright. It was. Gives me a greater sense of sercurity.

I've always been pleased with Nest products. My review rating is 4 stars ONLY because I have not heard the alarm in action; which, is a great thing! I like how it does self tests, and I can always check on the status of the alarm via the Nest app even away from home. A neat little feature is the "night light" it has when you approach it in the dark; add a little illumination in our hallway.

expensive but seems pretty nifty. I like that it interacts with the app, I would like if they brought back their security system so I could have everything in the same app working together.

Works great. This was a replacement for second original purchase. We are now using two new second generation Nest alerts. Should last 10 years before replacement. I.p.o

I have 3 of these in my home, they come with batteries and I bought one of these over a year ago and is still working great! I also love the motion light that turns on when it senses motion in the middle of the night!

I replaced 3 smoke detectors in my house with the wired version, and then realized I didn't have one near enough to the kitchen (where, at least in my house, a fire is most likely to originate). Before I had the chance to buy the battery only detector, and install it in the kitchen, my Dogs set a pizza box on fire on top of the stove (It was noticed and put out before any damage was done). The next day I purchased this device and installed it. Now, I get notifications on my phone if someone so much as farts in the kitchen!! (not really, i don't believe it has such capabilities, but you get what i'm saying)

I love my new Nest Protect. My favorite thing about it is the peace of mind I have now. If I'm at the store or work, I'll not only get alerted if there is smoke or CO2 in the house but I'll even know which room it's in. Then I can call a neighbor to save my dogs. :-)

This is a really nice and fancy co & smoke detector. It seems to work great, is smart, and easy to install especially if you already have another nest product (I have the thermostat) and the app is already installed in your phone.

Very easy to install, easy to use smoke detector. Like how easy it is connecting to my NEST app. Good piece of mind knowing that I will be notified via my phone if there is any smoke / carbon monoxide in the house.

Having two dogs and two kids- I enjoy knowing things are ok at the house, even when I’m not there. Took me about 2 minutes to attach to the ceiling (better than being on the wall) and less than 5 to set it up From my phone

I purchased 3 NEST Protects for my home and the 1st challenge was seting it up. So hopefully, you understand how your home router works and if it is secure - you have to disable to add the devices. Otherwise, I am very comfortable with its overall performance and its capabilities. You can test it, but only from the home and the night light while not super bright is helpful if it is pitch black once your eyes have adjusted. It really is an improvement over the standard smoke/carbon monoxide detectors I have to admit.
