I use other Nest products and its nice seeing everything in one place. They do a self check that always startles me but its nothing that bothers me. I use them stand alone, not integrated into a Smart Home. Don't need Google stealing more info then they need to.

Nest Protect is the BEST

If you have multiple Protects in your home they communicate with each other to ensure the health of the units and make announcements. If there is an alert all Protects announce it along with information on the location of the problem and the severity. Any Nest Cams on the network begin filming and an alert is sent to your cell phone. Truly an intelligent system.

Gift for Parents, Works as Intended

They got one as a gift last year and liked it enough that they wanted two more for the house. They're quite happy with them. Nothing outstanding but they're cool and work as needed.
