I purchased this Nest Protect to replace an old First Alert smoke detector. We had converted two other old smoke detectors 1 1/2 years ago along with adding a Nest indoor camera and video doorbell as well as a Nest Secure alarm system. If you've already invested in other Google/Nest home automation products, then this is a no brainer.

Best purchase ever absolutely love that it turns on the light when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night just an added feature to a smoke detector. This is the top of the line smoke detector. This smoke detector is the best in the world at what it does. You cannot get a better one for the price. 99 bucks is a steal to be constantly connected to wifi. Go out and get yourself 1 today. I personally bought 8 of them. Worth every penny. I would have paid even more if the price was higher.

I replaced all 3 of the Nest Protect devices in my home and I am delighted to have peace of mind now. The Nest does everything it says and even lights your way in a dark room or hallway by shining it circular light. What a great Christmas gift this would make for your children ot grand children.
