It is really easy to set up and when is connected to the app you can easily see the history and how the house is running. It is great!

Their detectors offer a lot of smart technologies that make living with a smoke detector more tolerable. The specs and abilities of these units cannot be understated. When paired with a smart home, you have a real solution that may just save your life and your home.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We use these in our short term rental units - they give alerts if smoke is detected in our condos so we can reach out to guests or make a call to the building manager / local FD if there is a problem. I wish there was some other company offering similar units… I despise Google… but this is all that’s available. Only issue is syncing units to the existing network. Seems to take 3-4 tries on the last two or three groups of Nest Protects I’ve installed.

Connectivity issues can be caused by different factors like location and distance of Nest Protect, Wi-Fi router, outdated phone and Nest app. This may also be caused by Wi-Fi network congestion, and Wi-Fi interference with other devices and/or networks. Removing other devices from your Wi-Fi might help. Also, please make sure that your Nest Protect is connected to 2.4Ghz connection.

I like the ability to be able to check the status of the unit via my smartphone or via any web browser. The "PathLight" feature is my favorite. It is motion activated, and provide a very comfortable glow i n the dark hallway when approached.
