Our old smoke detector went off any time the shower was used so this is a welcome upgrade. It has a light indicator to show that all is well and can be integrated with additional Nest smart home items if you have them. It can work separately without other Nest components too. We feel a lot safer now.

I've been part of the NEST universe for some time now (indoor camera & doorbell) so logically I had to get the smoke alarm since I needed one. Alarm works really well and the fact that you can check the current status and alarm history on the NEST app is awesome! Definitely will be getting more throughout the house.

We have had a Nest on the main level of out home for a couple of years. This one was for the basement where the furnace, dryer and hot water tank are located. This makes me feel much safer knowing if anything happens with any of them to cause emissions or fire we will know about it.

This nest protect is perfect for our home, we have it in 3 rooms and our smoke alarm is not going on as easy as it was before even from our humidifier. Love it and it's easy to control from the phone.

I just noticed that I bought this in October 2018 and have had the same batteries when I installed it, and any time it's dark and I move in my house the halo ring on it lights up, so this thing has had to light up like a million times, so battery life is amazing. I've also cooked in the kitchen with this nest smoke detector and had some smoke come up every now and then but it only gives a pre-alarm. It actually talks to you and says something like "there's smoke detected, the alarm will sound" and gives a few chimes. It'll also give you a notification on your phone which is key if you're not actually home destroying some food recipe.

Carbon monoxide detector went off in middle night, we were able to get everyone out of basement safely. I appreciate this little device so much! Detectors do expire, but AI aspect let you know in advance so it’s not a surprise

The battery powered next smoke/ carbon monoxide detectors are awesome! They light up when it’s dark to show the pathway. Also these function as repeats for the next system and help to integrate large houses
