I was cooking and the pan started smoking you and immediately the alarm alerted me. So it is very efficient. It talks to you first to warn you before any loud beeping begins so you can attend to it before the loud sirens begin.

Works great as far as I know. Yopu'll want to use lithium batteries. I haven't had to actually test it thankfully.

You cant put a price o. The ki d of piece of mind this brings you.Never be confused should your alarm go off in the middle of the night.

Smart home, sure. These are not the only alarms. I have backup. I love it, but I don't trust it 100%. having said that, no fires yet, but the monthly tests work. IF you want to know your house is on fire when you are not home, probably a good investment.

Awesome Smoke / CO2 detector! Works really well and notifies the rest of the house of exactly where the smoke is coming from

I really like the product but I have questions about well they are working together and communicating as a system. They are supposed to be audibly doing a self check each day to let you know they are in sync with each other. I have 7 of these installed and have yet to hear any other them perform this check. So it causes me to wonder if they are all working together in sync. In the event of a fire, I am counting on being notified of a situation no matter where I'm at in the building. I think they are a good product, but I need to contact support to iron out this bug.

Easy to install using your smartphone. Doubles as smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. Also has the ability to be used as a motion detecting night light.

Love my Nest Protect. This is the third one I have purchased. Once the radon detector goes, it must be replaced.

I purchased this, after buying several cameras, and wanted to add the convenience of a smoke and carbon monoxide monitoring device, so that I could be notified on the same system as my cameras. I love that this product checks itself every month and is very proactive about keeping you informed.

We have these throughout out entire house. Best feature is the smoke warning before the alarm actually goes off. Usually happens if we're cooking something and it gets smoky. But allows us to prevent the alarm going off, much nicer.

This one honestly has me in impressed. I own almost every home google product made and this is just such a nice piece of mind to add to the system. The nightly promise and pathlight features just put it over the top

I am glad that I upgraded the smoke detector to this Nest. It can be controlled from the phone, which is very convenient. I am glad that it has the feature of informing you about what is going on with it even when you are away from home or wherever else you use it. It can connect to Wi-Fi, and you can be notified on your phone through your cellular network, as long as the Nest is connected to Wi-Fi. I just hope that the Energizer Lithium batteries, which are very good batteries, are powerful enough to make it work a long time before they need to be replaced.

Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of Google (probably makes me uncool these days) But I have completely bought into their smart home ecosystem. The last step was adding the smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Twice it lost connection to the nest connect hub which is not even 20 ft away. The only that way I could get it to reconnect was to reset the device and start over. This time it's holding now for over a week so fingers crossed!!! FYI I have a 450 Mbps internet speed that's reliable through my cable provider so that shouldn't be the issue. Everything else in home stays connected. Also, I have no way of knowing if notifications work on my phone or tablet since there's no test for that and I'm assuming I would get notified if my house was burning and I was away, But I also don't know that for sure?!? I thought this would be like all other smart devices and everything would be a notification if I chose. Apparently not. Just trusting no notification is good news doesn't make me feel any better. I've researched after reading the pamphlet and still don't have a clear answer! I bought this for peace of mind when I'm away from home at work or wherever since I have pets and my home is mine biggest investment. Right now it's not providing that since I cannot confirm therefore three stars.
