I guess that's by law. Now my feedback -- What in the world is Nest doing. I brought this to replace a first gen Nest Protect. The 1st gen was awesome for us. The 2nd gen blah -- - The path light I just can't get the thing to work. The first gen I had worked flawlessly - The mounting is horrible. The plate is fine. Im talking about mounting the Nest protect to the plate. You clockwise screw it to the base plate. There is no brake or stop with tension. When it feels secure you let it go. So, you can actually keep screwing clockwise infinitely. I like the 1st gen, but the 2nd gen is like blah to me.

I also like the feature were when its dark the light turns on so you can see. The main downside to the alarm is that the stand/hook for it is very cheap and can break easily.
