Installation was easy. The screws worked great to screw it in and it connects great to the phone. The app is also great! It has a night light on which works very well in the hall and only turns on with movement.

After installing three of these detectors in my house I noticed I could use one more. It installed very easily. I didn’t even need to put in my wifi password as the other detectors communicated the password with it. I really like that these detectors communicate with each other. If smoke is detected in one part of the house, the other detectors tell you in English which detector has noticed the problem. Plus they don’t even need wifi to communicate with each other. If the wifi goes out they still are operative.

Easy to install, great piece of mind. I especially like the nightlight and the fact of you have a nest thermost it will shut off the furnace if it detects carbon monoxide.

Love this product, super easy to set up and mount. I love the build in night light system and gives off great lighting in dark rooms. I would highly recommend this product.

Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Setup was quick and easy to add to the Nest app. I like all the features, especially the night light that comes on when motion is detected. I own two so far.

I really like the functionality of the detectors. Simple installation and setup. Looking to purchase a couple more to install in my home.

I've had the Nest Protect for about a month installed in the kitchen area. I can't really speak to the efficacy of the unit in performing its primary purpose... that is to say, I don't really know how good it is at detecting an actual fire (and hopefully will never have to find out). However, based on product reviews with fire test results that I had read online before purchasing, I felt confident enough in the unit's ability. I can say that I have thus far not experienced any nuisance alarms, which was one of my major concerns for a smoke detector in the kitchen. Additionally, I found the setup process to be incredibly easy. The path light feature is pretty cool as well.

The unit installed easily and paired without any problems with my Nest thermostat. I like that it tests it's self and lets me know that the unit is ok. No more 2 am beeps because the smoke alarm battery is low.

So far it is working great and doing what it is supposed to do. Plus it has a night light on if you like That, but you can turn off if you don’t .

But if I do, it's there. Installation was a breeze, connectivity is a flash. I already had a Nest thermostat, and this continues the excellent design and ease of use of that product. It's spiffy looking, too.

I purchased our first Nest Smoke and carbon monoxide detector for the main floor of our home a year and a half ago and it just saved us from carbon monoxide poisoning this past week. Worked perfectly. Alerted us, shut down our furnace(with Nest thermostat), told us when the house was clear from the hazard and through the app even indicated what the carbon monoxide level peaked at. That said, I just purchased a second unit for the upstairs. Setup was easy and seamless. Well worth the money. Buy it! You won’t regret it! The piece of mind is priceless!!

This is my second unit. Easy to install and monitor with voice notification. The extra price is well worth it. Works well with the 5 nest cams I have and can track all through one app. A must buy!!!

updated my smoke detectors. I had the conventional battery powered ones and thought that since I had the time and their useful life was ending I'd replace them. They went up on the ceiling super easy and the setup was a complete no brainer. I don't have any other NEST products so I had to set up an account but then I don't check up on them like I do door locks. But the linking of all four and connection to the NEST account was easy. They regularly check themselves. I hear them doing this. Feel good that this checks both carbon monoxide as well as smoke.

Bought this along with the wired version. Installation is about as easy as it gets. Setup is always smooth and painless with nest products. So far battery life is great. No false alarms yet.

This took me about 5 minutes to setup, including the wall/ceiling attachment. Devices work flawlessly, I like the light that turns on at night when it senses a person. Nice little added feature.

Bought this to help regulate the temperature in our bedroom overnight, and it definitely helps keep the room more comfortable. Very easy setup, and works exactly as expected.

This is a great product for many reasons. Easy instillation, great features, app works well, love the night-light feature as well as more than just a smoke detector. Have 4 in my house and feel very secure.

Compared to normal smoke detectors - this is amazing. The setup was easy. Features and thoughtful design translate to tremendous value. I may swap out the rest of my original equipment.

Great product. Even easier to install than the wired one we bought. The automatic night light feature is especially nice.

Perfect companion to the nest as I don't have a nest upstairs, so this will help with detecting that we are 'home'. Easy install of wired version. Best smoke/carbon monoxide alarm available.
