There are some features I’m still not familiar with. I bought one to test how much I liked it before replacing the other smoke detector. I’m not sure I will. I love the concept. Not as easy to use

This will add a safety feature to the security system.

Very good product. Very simple to use and very convenient.

Even when my phone is set on silent, it will notify me when this detector is aware of smoke, carbon monoxide, or a low battery. I bought two and installed them in different homes of concern.

Having these in addition to our original home installed alarms truly gives me a piece of mind. One day I completely forgot I had started the stove and went outside watering plants within a few minutes I had an alert on my phone smoke detected in kitchen hall. Saved me from a big mess! Love these!

The product is great, but Best Buy didn't have the wired unit in 3-packs. I needed 7 units. The Google Store now has virtual 1-packs, 3-packs and 6-packs, with progressive discounts at each level, and if you order a 6-pack, they send you six 1-packs. Google has a better price at that volume. If I were purchasing in-store at Best Buy, they presumably would have price-matched, but I couldn't figure out how to price-match online, so I ended up returning the Best Buy units and buying directly from Google.

We all have busy lives, and this product helps keep my home safe when I'm not around. It will alert you if there is smoke or carbon monoxide present, even if you are not at home. It tests itself regularly for any problems and all of the units talk to each other. Great purchase, great product.

Won’t connect to my nest ap. Asks to be charged frequently. I have nest thermostats and door locks. This is the worst nest product I own due to its high maintenance

Big disappointment. I brought 2 of these, thinking it would be a great to have a smoke detector that would let me know when the batteries needed to be changed. Great idea in concept. The problem is: One of the 2 asks for new batteries every 20 days. Must used lithium ion batteries. It requires 8 batteries, batteries are right around $1.75 each- that’s $14 every 20 days or right around 182 a year for batteries….

We passed our city inspection with these instead of the wiring all smoke detectors which will cause significant money.

I have an older house and all smoke/carbon detectors are battery operated (not wired)... Nest Protects will link them together, so if one goes off, they all go off. I need a few more to meet code and I do not have to worry about wiring them together!

It is ok, doesn't do what it is supposed to do, alert you on your phone when you are away from the house.. although it says everywhere it is supposed to..

It is recommended that you replace your smoke alarms every 10 years. This combination of smoke and CO2 makes it easier to get warnings for both. It is easy to pair all of the detectors together and nice that they self test daily or if you test them from your Nest app.

The Nest Protect 2nd Generation (Battery) took several days to activate to my computer. This Nest Protect is overly sensitive to smoke in the dining room!

Love the pathlight, we use it as a nightlght in the kids rooms. Pack of 3 is the best value, especially around Thanksgiving. Be warned, these do expire in 10 years and I believe they brick themselves (unlike traditional smoke detectors).
