Nest wireless (battery) work and look great! They relay any signals to each other. We have tested, but not actually had to use them (thankfully). Security in safety at home for our family. They also look great on the walls. The nightlight is just enough lumens to guide you, but not enough to wake you!

We purchased two of these to upgrade our home. We accidentally sent one of them off when we were cooking and the one upstairs very quickly started talking to us telling us where smoke was coming from and so I felt very confident should we have an emergency we would be alerted right away. I like the nightlight feature so that when I walked by the night light will go on.

I just bought a house and the smoke alarm in it wasn't even working! Some friends had been talking about the Nest product line, so I looked at the Nest smoke and carbon monoxide alarm. It sounded like a nice upgrade for my home! When I bought it, I thought it might be difficult to set up/install; however, it was not. The instructions were very straight-forward. I've been using it for about a month now and I'm very pleased!

I've used Nest products in the past. They are so easy to install and use. I love the nightlight feature. My only complaints: 1. Put markings on the wall plate to indicate up/down or right/left. 2. Play nice with Alexa and Homekit

Have Nest Camera so this integrates into same app. Very simple setup and no false alarms.

I like all the features, especially the self testing for the alarm each month. It also has a nightlight feature which is nice. I'm getting another one to replace my separate carbon monoxide and fire alarms in the basement, so they're also space saving.

We have several of these in our house now and I love them. I am replacing all of the regular detectors with these as they start to go bad or need new batteries. A bit on the pricy side, but nice to have that piece of mind when we are camping or away for any reason to know that not only will my alarm notify me, but that these will as well.

The Nest protect, is the upgrade that smoke detectors needed!! Gone are the days of smoke detectors blaring non-sense beeps cause battery power was low. Or not knowing that smoke detector is defective and would not stop blaring beeps with a Nest protect smoke detector. The Nest protect is powered by one of two available power options, wired or battery. Requires a free quick app download and wifi to set up for OS and Android systems. Once set up correctly the device operates silently monitoring itself, your home and provides a built-in lighting device for emergencies and non-emergencies. This device will speak, not chirp or blare non-sense beeps!! Should the Nest protect detect a problem, the occupants will be informed of what area of your home the problem is located. What type of problem has been detected. Unfortunately, the Nest protect does have a disadvantage, that is overcoming wife connectivity issues. Something old generation smoke detectors never had. However, wifi connectivity is only required to alert owners when away from home of an emergency. When compared to older generation smoke detectors would an owner have that chance to be alerted to a crisis when away? The Nest protect gives homeowners that chance to react if and when necessary. It's not all bad for the Nest protect, if no wifi connectivity is available the Nest protect is still functional. Though, the only alert an owner will receive should wifi connectivity be lost is thru email. For owners to get those email alerts do need to sign up for a Nest account.

I bought one of these the day they came out. I installed it as soon as I got it home. I was impressed with it but it was the fact that my wife wanted me to go get a second one because she liked it so much was really impressive. The motion detecting night light did it for her. I liked the communication between the two, which made me go get the thermostat so they could communicate with it also. Its been a great system so far. Good looks and performance. Isn't that the goal?

Place this in my house and in my parents home to give us peace of mind if anything occurs I'm quickly notified by Google that an event is occurring. Very happy with purchase. Works well with NEST thermostat to automatically shut off heater if carbon monoxide is detected. Easy install with Google hub app. After 7 months very satisfied with purchase.

These are great! Peace of mind. Had them for about a year now. No issues. Connect with your cellphone. The fact that they are also carbon monoxide detectors did it for me. Had notifications go off when my daughter was “cooking” worked great. They can also link directly to the fire department so if there’s a fire they will be notified.

I love this smoke / carbon monoxide detector. I have a small aparen't and when cooking the alarm will go off but this alarm gives you a verbal warning that there is smoke and the alarm will sound. When this happens instead of getting a broom and fanning the smoke alarm all you need to do is go to your phone and pull up the app to silence the alarm! This might sound like no big deal, but it is! LOL! Worth every penny!

The Nest smoke detector was easy to install and works great about a week after installing the detector I got a alert on my phone that it had gone off while at work my daughter was home so I immediately called home to see what the issue was and she advised that some food was left unattended and was burning and smoking a lot but everything was ok a few minutes later got another alert that smoke was clearing and all was ok.

Love the nite lite that comes on when you’re close to it. Also easy install.

In general I love nest products! So easy to use, look great, and can be viewed remotely!

This is easy to set up and can use the app to check its status and test it. But Google's videos about installing make it seem easy, just screw in the mounting plate with the screwdriver. That might work for some, but I needed to first drill a pilot hole because I could not do it with a screwdriver alone. Your mileage may vary.

I have used Nest products ever since the original Nest thermostat. The Protects are a great addition to the Neat thermostat. Remember that as a smoke detector they will expire and have to be replaced. This purchase was to replace a Protect that expired. But still a great product. My family likes the night light feature in the hallway.

Most people don't realize that smoke detectors have a ten year life. This product replaced an existing smoke detector. It provides smoke and carbon monoxide protection. As a part of a Nest smart home the status of the smoke detector is available remotely. The self test and easy installation were pleasant surprises. There is the Pathlight feature that will turn on a guidelight at night when motion is detected.
