Easy to install. Work great. I like the light on feature when you walk by.

Expensive, yes. All Nest items are. BUT this thing is solid. It's well-built, the lights on these alarms are cute and provide a good visual feedback on the state of the fire alarm. They test regularly, and the software on the iPhone app is super solid. MOST importantly, however: it works great and detects smoke readily. When one alarm goes off, the others do, too. So if you're upstairs and there's smoke in the kitchen, every one of these alarms will geneate a audible voice message saying that there's smoke. I wish they were more affordable, but wouldn't buy any other brand as far as I can tell.

Easy to install. Beautiful to look at it. The functionality online is great. Nest is simply fantastic.

I already own Nest thermostat, so I already have a nest account and it is easy to add products to the nest account. I just replaced the existing smoke alarm with this one in few minutes. The instructions are very clear and the customer report is world class. You can monitor the status using Nest app or you can easily integrate with smart hub like Wink or smartthings in no time. Overall, very happy with the product.

Love this unit! Needed to replace an old smoke detector that kept misinterpreting steam from the shower as smoke. This unit knows the difference and does not go off when my wife takes a long hot shower. Also really like that it does its own monthly alarm check! Battery life is great, lasts a year or so.

This is awesome! It's very sensitive. Let's me know when dinners ready, but unlike other smoke detectors it can easily be silenced so you don't have to rip it off the wall and take the batteries out when there's burnt food in the oven. The nightlight is another awesome feature that is very handy especially since I work nights and get home in the dark. I can know my home is safe when I'm away by looking on my phone. Love it!

Head my warning- check every detector in the home prior to replacing to see us they are all the same. We only checked one, purchased 6 wired and come to find out 5 were battery only. We purchased them directly from Google and they did not allow us to return them so we bought the battery version from Best Buy. I like that they all talk to each other and can be tested regularly through the app.

Simple device that does what it says (within reason). Painless install that works with Mesh Networks finally! The only issue is a max of 10 homes in Google Nest so if your using this for many locations (or in a small business application) be aware of Googles limitstions

Easy to install. No Problems. Works great. I like the night light and the green status light ( lets you know it's working). I must admit I feel safer going to bed with these smoke/carbon detectors. I plan to add to more rooms

I purchased a pair of these to complement the other smoke alarms (basic) installed at my home. Easy installation, but make sure to understand where to place them. They communictate with each other in the event of an alarm. Nice to have for piece of mind, especially if you have natural gas coming into your home.

Really like this Smoke Detector, last very long on AAs batteries and sensitive enough to detect smoke and Co2, pair to the nest Apps to keep connected, no matter where you are. Wifi connection and colorful lighting. The chirping is real loud and alert on your phone as well.

I've used the Nest Protect Smoke/CO^2 alarms for over 7 years. They interconnect nicely and intercom to all the units if there is an alert such as "Heads up, There is smoke in the basement". These are supposed to connect to the Nest Thermostat and turn off the furnace if CO^2 is detected.

Every night I love that it shows me that everything has been tested and good to go. One night it lost our WiFi signal for before we went to bed it flashed yellow. Hit the nest button and told me exactly what was wrong. Only complaint is the path light picks up my tiny cats, so it is really sensitive to motion. Everything it says it does!

I would buy them again, even though they are pricey. I believe they are worth it. I love that they contact me, even if I’m traveling far from home. I remember one time while I was away from home, I got a notification that there was smoke in the kitchen. I called home and someone went into the kitchen and shut off the stove top. I highly recommend these.
