Like the interconnect ability. Haven't ( and hope not to) tried with carbon monoxide or a fire. With the app, you can see the status of all the alarms in your house, change settings, and battery health. If a battery is low, you are directed to the correct unit rather than all of them chirping and having to sort it out.

I love having the peace of mind that my home is safe and that I will be notified if anything happens while I am away from my home. The nest smart smoke and co detector was super easy to install with only needing a screwdriver. Fast and easy to integrate into my nest home app.

Have wired versions for primary locations and purchased this for other locations. Integrates well with wired versions. Like the pathway lighting feature in addition to the primary safety features for fire/smoke and CO2 alarm. Ten year battery with automatic monthly testing is a huge plus.

Seamlessly integrate multiple units to provide whole-home coverage no matter how big or how small the home! Also, there's no need to have separate smoke and carbon monoxide detectors with these amazing units that can do both! A must for homes with a fireplace!

A no brainier... It illuminates dark passage and syncs up with the nest thermostat...

I want to slowly move towards a smart home, and with an 18 month old at home I thought the Nest Protect was the perfect start. It was easy to install and set up, although setup took a little longer than someone may like, but easy. It's kind of a very long term thing to review, so it would be nice to come back to it in a year or two to see how it is working. But so far it's been great!

Great Nest product to have installed with your house and easy usage and manageable using your smart phone

Installation and setup was quick and easy. Less than 30 minutes from opening the box to testing the final installed system. I bought two battery operated wireless units to add to my existing 4 direct wired units. All 6 are synced together wirelessly so that if any one alarm is triggered then all 6 will go off.

Super easy to set up and install. Nightlight is nice and it looks good.

The Nest smoke/CO detector is easy to install and add to your nest account. I like the night light that detects motion. This is the 5th one I've installed. I did have false alarm problems with most of the Gen 1 detectors but Nest replaced them with no problem. The Gen 2 detectors have been functioning without any false alarms. They do a monthly self test automatically. Recommended!

Replaced our failing smoke alarm, one that was monitored by our alarm company with the Google Nest Smoke and CO detector. While on vacation the Nest smoke alarm went off and sent notifications to my phone saying there was smoke and carbon monoxide detected. Was able to view our Google nest cameras and verify there was a fire. Was able to call the neighbor and emergency services to save our home. Awesome product and would highly recommend purchasing. The voice notification saying if its Smoke or CO is great. If you have multiple units they will all go off.

Nest makes solid products which are easy to setup and are reliable. When dealing with smoke detectors, it is hard to say whether the product works until you need it. 1) Setup - Easy and seamless. Had minor issues because my firewall was blocking outgoing connections, but app gives clear error messages which a quick google helps close up. 2) low profile unit which was easy to install. 3) no false positives (yet) - Was cooking some for which started to smoke. Other smoke detectors started going off. This one did not. IT was a bit further from the others, but expect it was because there was not enough to trigger an alert. It is nice to be able to able to link up with family/friends so you can help react should a detector activate.

Easy to install and easy to set up. Very clear voice that talks to you and very loud too, which is a good thing. Connects to your best thermostat to better protect your home. If co is detected, it shuts off the heat of its on. Smoke detected, it'll turn off the ac so it doesn't spread through the house. Very good, plan on getting at least a couple more for the house, worth the price for certain!

Easy to install as everything required is in the box. Units worked just as promised.

I am very pleased with this product. I bought it for the fire and carbon monoxide detection but am most impressed by the connection to my smartphone and regular email updates. The motion night light feature was a pleasant surprise as is the momentary green light indicating that the system is working when the lights are turned off. I am now adding other NEST products to my home.

We purchased 2of the Nest smoke detectors recently for that added “Peace of Mind” comfort at night or when we are away from home. These units are very modern looking and don’t look like an old-fashioned smoke alarm. They are easy on the eyes!
