We recently moved into a house that had a Nest thermostat installed and it was our first experience with it. We liked it so much that we ended up getting the Nest Protect to pair with it. Here are a few reasons why we like the Nest Protect: 1) You can replace the smoke detector in your kitchen with a Nest Protect and if you accidentally set it off with kitchen smoke, you can just press the big button to turn off the alarm. No need to pull the whole thing down and throw it outside or take out the battery like old school models. 2) If you are out of the house or traveling and the carbon monoxide alarm or fire alarm go off, the Nest Protect will alert you through the app. We never thought of it that way, but we like the reassurance that this offers. 3) Most publications suggest that carbon monoxide testers need to be cleaned with a vacuum and replaced every 10 years. It was time for us and we consider the Nest a serious all-in-one upgrade from our "dumb" smoke detectors and carbon monoxide testers.

I love the nest protect! A friend of mine had these in her house so when I bought mine, they were one of my first purchases! I love the path light feature for night time and that these monitor both smoke and CO2

So far, I love these. Definitely a premium price, but having them all connected to each other and to my phone is huge, especially when it comes to keeping my family safe. Nice perk, the LED ring lights up your pathway in the dark.

I purchased this detector because I wanted something which did both CO2 and Smoke, and also integrated with my cell phone to track it while not home. I think the Nest app is great and easy to understand. Setting this detector up was also a breeze. We are moving in to a new, bigger house soon so I plan on purchasing more for the rest of the house!

Love my Nest protect! They were easy to set up and connect to the app. They provide peace of mind when we’re away from the house and ensure safety while in it. Also, they have a motion detector light which is an added bonus!

I love the compatibility with my other google products and ease of use. Took about 10 minutes to install. I love knowing that regardless of where I may be, I can be notified on my cell phone if there are any issues related to smoke/CO2.

This product first and foremost is for the purpose of safety. There are several smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors on the market. Why choose this one you ask! I can only say that I purchased it for its intended purpose. It is a 2 in 1 unit so saves space. The other reason is that it can send an alert to a your phone. I think it is very important to know if the home is filled with carbon monoxide prior to entering. There are no visible signs to make you aware. Also, if kids get home before the working parents do, they can be notified by you or via notification not to enter. This device is for peace of mind and hopefully never has to be tested.

I love these smoke detectors so much that I have 3 in my home, and I put 9 in my parents' home. Each one will literally announce in advance that they are going to sound. I have't had any false alarms and I love how it integrates with the Nest system (I have several Nest cams throughout the house as well).

I kept spending $30-50 replacing smoke alarms that are always faulty or go off for no reason. Never understood why anyone would spend $150 on a smoke alarm. Then I got one. Totally worth it. Setup is a breeze. It's synced with my thermostat and camera. Never have to worry about why it's beeping ever again. Love this product and the company

Great functionality, looks good and is simple to manage and install

I'm writing this review after my 5th purchase of Nest Protect. Needless to say, I'm happy. I bought this one for my mom, less than a month later, she knowingly left a pie in the oven and went to the post office...well the apple bubbled over and smoke filled the kitchen, no danger of fire, but I was able to bust my mom for leaving the house with the oven on.

So far, I have bought six of these and plan to buy another seven for a brand new house I recently moved into. I love how these network together and seamlessly fit into my smart home eco structure. Very easy to install and very easy to set up. Love the audible voice it emanates prior to any beeps. Highly recommend this product!

It is better to be safe than sorry. I replaced my smoke detector in my main room and couldn’t be happier. My old smoke alarm would randomly beep. I replaced the battery and it still kept beeping??? I installed the new Nest protect and problem solved. Now is the alarm goes off I just waive my hand over it!! Knowing that my family is safe is all that matters.

This is a very reliable product. It sends alerts and is very to use when performing tests. I have two of these items in my home and I would highly recommend.

Similarly super easy to install (as was my Nest Thermostat), integrated seamlessly with my Nest application to provide additional comfort and security in my home, and over my family. Nest continues to impress with simple to install, simple to use, yet exceptionally valuable products.

When I was younger, our house caught on fire in the middle of the night so ever since then I have this fear of it happening again. This smoke detector gives me a peace of mind bc I always know it is working because it's lit up green and plus if I am away I will also be notified and the fire department will be called! Technology these days!

it's an expensive, but fantastic smoke alarm. creates fewer false-alarms from normal cooking in the kitchen, and the fact that you can control it from your phone makes all the difference... (be careful to get the right model for your home: battery vs hard-wired).
