Replaced our failing smoke alarm, one that was monitored by our alarm company with the Google Nest Smoke and CO detector. While on vacation the Nest smoke alarm went off and sent notifications to my phone saying there was smoke and carbon monoxide detected. Was able to view our Google nest cameras and verify there was a fire. Was able to call the neighbor and emergency services to save our home. Awesome product and would highly recommend purchasing. The voice notification saying if its Smoke or CO is great. If you have multiple units they will all go off.

Have not seen it work yet, but i hope i never have to! I like that it ties to the app for the ability to call 911 if you're not at home.

This is hands down, the BEST idea that someone has ever come up with! Instead of having the neighbors know when you burned the toast, you are able to control the setting and silence it with a push of a button; not having to rip the thing off the ceiling and having it still go off while outside. The calibration on the Nest App is really easy and simple!

This unit is very loud, the nightlight feature is nice for when the kids wake up in the middle of the night so they can see, while it's not that bright it is enough light to not trip over things or fall down stairs. I also use a nest thermostat which this will tell it to shut off the furnace in the event that it detects dangerous carbon levels.

I bought 5 of these to fill in missing gaps in my house. Set them all up at once so was able to have them talk to each other and copy all the settings/passwords needed to finalize set up. My only complaint is that since the unit is square you have to be careful when mounting the unit. If you aren't paying attention it ands up crooked.

I for one welcome our new smoke alarm overlords. Seriously though it is pretty sweet. Using ifttt i have it set to turn on all my wemo lights if there is an issue. Although not a necessity, IoT devices are pretty cool. Lets just hope the despots dont figure out how to hack them. Wouldnt be any fun sitting in the dark with a non functional smoke alarm.

Haven’t really got to test it out yet with real smoke but everything seems to be working. The test alarm is nice and loud. Easy to setup and connect to the app. The nightlight feature got annoying because of the animals so we turned it off. Overall great product.

Bought new detectors as the Carbon Monoxide sensors in my 10 yr old Nest Protects expired. I like Nest products, these are very sensitive. Positive- I like how they are connected to my smart home. Con - I wish that you can program your own voice or alerts. After a handful of false alarms over the years - battery, needed to clean the sensors,, and toast, my dogs (and I) are traumatized. I have to make sure they are out of the house to test. It definitely grabs your attention which is what it is suppose to do.

Easy to install. Good looking and very easy to use

I bought 2 Nest Protects - 1 battery and 1 wire-in to replace the original alarm by the second-floor bedrooms. Battery alarm installed in basement. Installation of the IOS app went flawlessly. Did manual test on one and both alarms responded as expected. Got a health report from Nest on my phone after 30 days. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent product. It detects smoke really quickly when I was testing it and the best part the app also notifies your phone when smoke is detected. One option is also it has a ring light that you can use as phatlight at night. I recommend it.

Super easy to install and comes with nicely packed components. Does come about a year into the MFG date, which means I effectively only have 9 years left on the life span before it has to be replaced. Esy to view on the app and the night sensor light is a nice touch.

Expensive but worth it my eyes. love that i can get alerts when away if anything were to happen at home. replaced a 1st generation protect with this one. very happy with my purchase and 10yr life is good with this new model.

We decided to buy this because we already had a nest thermostat and it wasn’t too bad of a price for what you get. Honestly the best thing about this is the way it’ll subtly lights up the room for movement in the dark. It’s not too bright to wake up anybody but just bright enough to see in the room late at night.

Sort of pricey but, I suppose I’ll pay for the comfort of having modern smoke alarms. I bought these since my old school ones like to randomly go off when a spider gets into the alarm.

After my smoke alarm CO alarm went off while my daughter was home alone with no way to know what was wrong, I decided I wanted a smart unit that could tell me if it was fire or CO. It was very easy to setup. It does a monthly self check and lets me know what is going on via my phone while I'm at work. I would recommend.

Love these detectors, I have then throughout the house and they work great. Especially love being alerted to problems through smartphone app when I am not home, gives me peace of mind. The only negative is that they can't tell they left at high steam levels, so whenever the teenagers get out of their forever ling shower and open the bathroom door, the hallway unit sets off as a potential problem as the steam comes out of the bathroom. I wish their was a way for the product to learn that a certain behavior in a certain location is not a problem, but I guess it's always better to be in the safe side. Overall very happy with purchase.

This is a very reliable product. It sends alerts and is very to use when performing tests. I have two of these items in my home and I would highly recommend.

I purchased this to replace the existing smoke and CO2 detectors in my kitchen, I really enjoyed the ease of set up and the app works great on my iPhone and iPad. The ability to turn off the alarm before it’s fully activated when you’re cooking is a great feature to avoid any annoying false alarms.
