For example if there’s smoke and I’m at work, it’ll tell me what room the smoke is in.

I already have a full smoke detector system in my house, but I wanted redundancy and wanted an alarm in the garage. so I bout two of them one in th emain living room and one in the garage. they talk to each other and they alert my phone. I now have peace of mind knowing that 1) I have redundancy 2) I can now hear in the house if the alarm in the garage is set 3) I will receive an alert on my phone if there is trouble at home. They are pricey but peace of mind goes a long way.
