No more chirping, no more seeing a red or green blinking light wondering if that's a good thing or not! This gives you clear indicators or what it is doing thinking and what's going on. The other added perk is the pathway light! They light up when you pass them at night. No more turning on the hall light!

They are just so solid even at the higher price point it's worth it. Kept getting false positives with a different brand. Peace of mind when not at home that there is no smoke or carbon monoxide. Peace of mind that they are working accurately. Peace of mind that the nest application will tell you if a unit is having an issue. The "HeadsUp" early warning that levels are rising BEFORE the alarms go off is a great feature (although I haven't used it yet.) Only negative I can think of - outside of price - wish it would report back the temperature to the Nest app. Would be great to see the temp in each room.

I particularly love the fact that it tells you the alarm is going to go off before it does, so if it is because you are cooking, you have a chance to stop it! The one major drawback is that it does not support Apple HomeKit, so I had to buy a Starling Home Hub to use it. It appears to work flawlessly through the hub, though. Hopefully they will integrate matter support into it so that the extra purchase won't be necessary in the future.
