Purchased to keep my older mother safe. we found out that her smoke detector was not working when I was down visiting... I have these in my home and love them... immediately I went and purchased one for her house. I have access to it via the app and get notifications when it goes off.. usually she sends me a text right away saying she is just cooking.

I like the idea of being able to get notifications of smoke and CO in the house while away from home. We have not had any emergency events to actually test the device. We did have issues getting it to speak the right language. Once it gets locked into a particular language, it can be difficult and frustrating to change it to your preferred language. I would strongly recommend watching a 'how to' video before set up. We did have to call for help and after trying several different suggestions to change the language used by the device, finally had success. I have read that this is a 'Google' product and thus may not 'play well' with other nonGooglelike devices. Nevertheless, I liked the safety aspect of its concept enough to give it a try. I am not sure I would recommend to someone in general. Someone with other 'Google friendly' devices and other Nest devices would probably be comfortable with it.

Took me less than an hour to install 2 of these. Look great, perform as described.

This is a very simple install and easy to connect to app and thermostat. My family and i are already feeling safer

I like that it provides a warning before the alarm sets off. The night light is a great addition too.

This is my third NEST product and I have been pleased with the quality and ease of installation on all of them.

Love these nests. Besides wirelessly linking together on your account the warning between them is great. So if the basement notices something the detector in the bedroom will warn you of possible fire. Before I wouldn’t have been able to hear the old detector in my basement and what good does that do. I also love the motion light when you happen to get up in the middle of the night. It’s not very bright but bright enough to light your way.

This is a great product. I love to test it from my iPhone while st work. It really frightens my apartment neighbors

Easy to install works as advertised. Hardwired packaging had everything needed to install.

Easily the best smoke/CO detector I have ever seen. Setup is fairly easy and they look fantastic on the wall/ceiling. But the beauty in these things is that they work incredibly well. Best example I can give: wife was cooking a steak and there was some smoke. I got an alert on my phone that there was some smoke. I opened a window. Soon after I got an alert on my phone letting me know the smoke was dissipating. Pretty cool.

Easy to set up and navigate the app. Seems like adding more devices to the nest app would be simple. Not a big fan of the 2 year active period, but l can understand how this would get into safety compliance.

Loud, automatic light when someone passes by, CO and smoke detector, app controlled, and worked with the nest thermometer. Great product and best buy made the purchase seemless. You get what you pay for.

It works, and it works well. I love being able to see the history of it checking itself.

I got 2 battery powered units and they were easy to set up and are working well a couple of months later.

This device is really easy to use - it easily connected with my phone and does a good job of detecting smoke.
