    Nice upgrade and combines smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in 1. Linking units (bought 5) together took a little bit, but eventually worked. 4 stars because Nest has not figured out how to have these units communicate with your monitoring service. In other words if there is a fire the units will not contact fire dept, you better be near your phone to receive alert and call yourself. Nest brochure says every second counts because your home can burn down in under 10-minutes yet no way to connect these to your alarm system.

    Having this product does give you peace of mind. That being said it was a little troublesome to connect to the network compared to other devices. Also seems to be a little pricey.

    I have invested in the nest ecosystem (thermostat and nest cam), so this was the last piece of the puzzle. I was concerned about buying this based on poor reviews of the 1st gen nest protect but this 2d gen has been excellent and has given me great peace of mind to have a combined smoke and co detected with all the great features nest provides.

    I purchased this smoke/carbon monoxide alarm because I need a new alarm and all the products in my home was Google so I wanted everything to work together. My first alert came directly to all of my family devices and it was quickly taken care of. Great product.

    Great product easy to use. Got this more because we can silence the smoke detector from the app. With my wife being short she wouldn’t be able to reach it in order to silence it.

    I'm warming up to Nest products. I replaced a traditional smoke alarm with this one near the kitchen because of its ability to distinguish kitchen vapors from the house burning. So far it seems to be great.
