I am glad that I upgraded the smoke detector to this Nest. It can be controlled from the phone, which is very convenient. I am glad that it has the feature of informing you about what is going on with it even when you are away from home or wherever else you use it. It can connect to Wi-Fi, and you can be notified on your phone through your cellular network, as long as the Nest is connected to Wi-Fi. I just hope that the Energizer Lithium batteries, which are very good batteries, are powerful enough to make it work a long time before they need to be replaced.

Great feature that helps us for when we are not home. Would highly recommend to anyone. Never can be too safe.

Now have 7 of these throughout the house and love them. The way your about to silence from your phone or even the fact it warms you of smoke first before full on alarm goes off... Definitely makes my dog happier that there is a silent sound check feature.

This level of protection is a must for any household, lights the hallway informs you by sound or cell phone communication on what going on in the home at all times. Works with other devices in the home thermostat ceiling fans etc.

This smoke/carbon monoxide detector is a great peace of mind for my family. It even talks. It performs self test and will notify you if there is an issue it works well with all my nest products such as the nest cam and my nest thermostat and it will alert me on my phone or iPad if there is an issue.

Had it for 1 month, so far so good. It is always actively scanning to make sure everything is good

After the last of our smoke detectors went bad we decided it was to time to upgrade. Picked up a few of these and the wife set them off the first week lol. More importantly the the last good working detector we had through our alarm company, never made a peep. So yes, well worth the investment.

Great product. Easy to install and setup! Thinking of purchasing additional monitors.

I have several of the Protects in my home and I trust that they'll work if the time ever comes. BUT, the one thing that does frustrate me to some level is some of them run through batteries faster than others. I assume it's due to activity, however even when I turn off the night light option it still seems to go thru batteries fast. If I could give it a 4.5 stars I would. It seems too much to knock a whole star. OVERALL, you can't go wrong with them.

I love these smoke detectors. They alert you to any smoke or carbon monoxide, even when you’re away from home. We have one on every level of our home. Highly recommend, along with other components of the Nest system.

I purchased this because I moved into a home that had a smoke alarm probably from the 50's. It was gross and I am sure didn't work. This product looks great and the wireless control from your phone is perfect. It is great to be able to check on the status of your home at any moment.

This item is really high quality. It does not beep for every situation as other regular smoke detectors. Plus Nest test it time after time and notifies you in app about the scheduled testing. I definitely recommend this product.

These are great smoke detectors. Changed all of them out in my house, and love how they can test themselves, and you can test the entire system by pushing the button on one. Wired ones are nice to identify when a power outage started, too.

I really like the capability to remotely check on the status of the Nest Protect detector. An added safety feature, if paired with a Nest thermostat, will turn off furnace if carbon monoxide or smoke is detected. I believe this alone makes the detector a valuable safety device.

This is a big upgrade over the old battery powered ceiling smoke detectors. Having alerts sent to my phone if anything goes wrong at home is a huge plus and gives me great peace of mind when I’m away knowing that my house is safe

Still the best product in the nest lineup. Was a bit weird that the white circle in the middle doesn’t share the same nest badging as the others but that is nit picking this thing to death.

It is pricey, but works great and looks beautiful on ceiling.

Highly recommend! We have been using nest sensors for years now and just had to replace our first after 9 years. The app feature is easy to use, alarm self checks and you are able to see status of alarm as well.

I love this product. They were easy to set up. Love the way you can monitor & silence them from the Nest app. I also like that they not only beep, but they talk as well.
