Looks nice and is easy to install. The associated app is not at all intuitive though and makes simple things like setting schedules difficult to achieve. It's also not at all clear what is meant by the "leaf" icons that appear sometimes

The google nest was easy to install on my pan even in an antiquated condo unit. It does require some getting used to as most of the settings are done on the app and not on the unit itself. But best money spent versus a regular thermostat from Home Depot or Lowe’s.

My first experience with a smart thermostat, and it was great! App guided installation was quick and easy and integration with my existing Google Home/Google assistant is awesome ("OK Google, set the heat to 72 degrees"). Its easy to setup heating/cooling schedules and the side touch controls are relatively easy to use once you get used to them. I needed to do some wall repair when I removed the old thermostat, since this one was so much smaller and this unit does not come with a trim kit. Total cost was well under $100 after local utility rebate which is what made me pull the trigger. Highly recommended.

Great little thermostat for it's abilities. If you don't know anything about electrical or HVAC, I wouldn't recommend installing. I had to hook up an extra wire to thermostat and also check to make sure that wire was hooked up to the correct terminal in the indoor AC unit/evaporator. Google didn't explain any of this really, cause there is possibility of electric shock messing with that stuff. It wasn't plug and play for me. But for those who are willing to do a little research and are kinda handy it won't be bad. Being able to set the temp to change at certain times is very nice. Also not having to get up go to thermostat to change temp is great too.

I love being able to set each day to the temperatures I want and it is easy to program and I'm even able to to have multiple temperatures set in a single day! I can even control the thermostat from the google home app on my phone which is so convenient.

I have limited handyman skills, but it was so, so easy to install this thermostat. My only compliant would be that the interface with the physical thermostat is a li'l tricky. But, the app is so easy to use that it sorta balances out.

Our home has two zones and a heat pump for HVAC. I installed two of these thermostats and the process was made easy given the well documented instructions and numerous instructional videos available. The units can be individually programmed through a phone app to cover night, day, home, away times and temps. Also, the temps can be adjusted remotely from the app. The user interface is intuitive. There are rebates available through most every energy company. Google did a great job designing these and I highly recommend them.

Upgrading from a builder installed Honeywell thermostat to the Google Nest was a major improvement. The installation was easy. Lesson learned: Cut the bare portion of the red wire when you remove the old one and install the new Nest. If by any chance the red wire contacts another wire, you will blow out the fuse in your attic unit. It is low voltage so no harm done, but it is a pain to replace. The basic installation was extremely easy. I did not use a base plate to install the Nest, just drilled into the sheet rock/stud and it worked fine. Filled and repainted the holes left by old thermostat. Programming it was easy using an iPhone. It is nice to be able to make adjustments using the phone. App is good, but you may have to poke around a bit initially until you figure out where all the key controls are.

Impressive! I’ve always used the programmable ones from the big box store but tried this one and it works great and I like the app.

Every bit as good as the full priced (overpriced?) Nest thermostats. You're giving up nothing in functionality with this one. Maybe a little in aesthetics but only if you're a fan of the traditional Nest design.

It's extremely easy to use. You can control it from your phone. The only issue I've had was finding a wire to connect it directly to a power source so that I don't have to change the batteries every month.

Is easy install and no need for C wire. Takes me less than 30 minutes to put it on. This is my first time doing this. If anything that I dislike is using Google home app. I have issues the first time to link it. It take more time for me to link it than install it.

No difficulty with setting up. Once I changed the router, relinkinf the service was hassle-free. You do not need to be a techie to set up.

This smart thermostat was sort of a pain. First, it's a Nest but doesn't work with the Nest app. To connect it to our Google home collection of devices, took multiple tries without a clear reason as to why it couldn't save/ add the new device. We finally added it and it's fine. Does the job, easy to set up temperature preferences and schedules. Very basic, clear display. We bought the wall plate separately, which is way huge, but necessary to install. Overall satisfied with the purchase. We also own the more expensive Nest Thermostat and this one is easier to set up schedules, has every feature we actually use.

Had the Nest thermostat E which developed an error after having furnace replaced. Factory reset didn't fix it. I needed a quick replacement so I got this. The mirror finish is nice. Will take a little time to get used to swiping instead of turning the ring. Also I used the Nest app before and this forces using the Google Home app. I have a number of other Google devices so I was used to it. Still, for the thermostat,I preferred the Nest app. The trim kit is no longer included as before. One star knocked off for extra $15 for trim kit. Overall it seems like a good replacement and batteries for backing up settings in case of a power outage are easily accessed on the back of the puck.

Very good performance and elegant design, easy wiring. Even have the fault detection on your equipment and reccommended fix.
