I can’t believe I put off buying this!

I can’t believe I put off buying a wifi thermostat. It’s great to be able to control the thermostat without getting out of bed! A must have! This thermostat is cheaper than the other nests and no different in use.

Has ECO setting. Do not know if that helps yet, have not run it long enough!

Posted .Hello there, BoxBoy. Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re glad that your Nest Thermostat looks fine and works well for you. Nest thermostats would generally work without a common (C) wire. However, there are some systems that would require a C wire on the new Nest Thermostat like a heat only or cool only systems. And sometimes, you may need to connect a common wire (C wire) or power accessory, like the Nest Power Connector, to make your system compatible.
The C wire is also require on these cases:
- When you set up your thermostat, the Google Home app tells you that you need the Power Connector or a C wire.
- Your thermostat screen shows a power-related help code, such as E1, E297, N260 or N261.
- Your thermostat screen shows “Very low battery. Replace now and install a stable power source.”
- Your thermostat battery keeps draining.
- Your thermostat keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi.

Set up was easy as well as the install. Device is very easy to use but I do have one complaint. Sometimes the rotuines do not work in the google home app. That is more a fault with google and not the device its self but it causes some minor inconviences.

The starters and actions available for a Routine depend on the type of Routine, connected devices, settings, and other limitations. Not all devices can be used as starters so make sure you add the device to the home you want to create a Routine for. And please note that you can only use some devices as a starter. Make sure you add the device to the home you're creating a Routine for.
Also, Routines are only available in select regions and languages. To use Routines in a supported region, switch your phone's default language to a supported language in that region. On most phones, you can change the language in the phone's Settings app. For more detailed instructions, check with your phone's manufacturer. Easy to install and use

Would recommend checking your current thermostat's wiring before uninstalling to ensure the Nest will replace your current setup.

I can look at how long it takes to heat up my house, how often, and I can even set up schedules and many other features. If you have an old, manual thermostat... Upgrade. It's worth it! I installed it myself, as well.
