    Smart thermostats have been getting more affordable. This is the original smart thermostat that is now more seemlessly integrated with the Google smart home system. This was a great release.

    No complaints for a Nest that costs 1/3 as the original. The design looks better than the E model, but the touch control takes a while to get used to. Not easy for older parents.

    Could not install the Nest thermostat on my own even after watching a few videos on youtube. Only have 2 wires, but need a minimum of 3. Considered paying for Nest installation, but would have needed to bring in an electrician nonetheless to do the rewiring as Nest installer does not usually do that type of work. After electrician upgraded wiring, thermostat works as advertised, and now we have a sweet looking new thermostat on the wall.
